However, that doesn't explain Japan, Spain or the concert footage from ToD.... Not to mention the concert footage that David Fincher filmed. |

What is currently the best version of Blond Ambition to buy or download if I don't have a laser disc player? I got this bootleg a few months ago: http://www.madonna-store.com/index.p...product_id=130 Last edited by Bn43; 03-29-2020 at 07:29 AM. |

After that it started to become too much Cirque Du Soleil. The Drowning World I think on DVD only was also a great tour. |

One thing Madonna is learning is you can't cheat aging. Her body can no longer take what she is doing in concert which is why she keeps getting hurt
Her contract with Live Nation requires her to tour to pay them back for her huge advance. It's the tours that are making her money not the records. The boldest thing Madonna could do now is deep six EVERYTHING go out on stage with just an acoustic guitar and do a 15 to 20 minute set with a second acoustic guitar player Then bring out a SMALL band and just stand there and let her songs speak for themselves. It would be amazing! This is one of my favorite recent Madonna performances and Rebel Heart is one of the best songs she has ever written. You know all those songs Springsteen writes about his father? Well here's Madonna writing about her father...Tough Love. |

Haven't seen Rebel Heart. I was pretty impressed by her physicality and stamina in the Confessions Tour DVD. She was already like forty-eight in that show. Her arms and abs were so well built for a woman of that age. I sort of went backwards and watched that and Sticky and Sweet first.

So, I'm watching Confessions again and simultaneously thinking about what 50strat54 said about her repeatedly hurting herself.
![]() ![]() So THAT'S what all those X-rays are. I don't remember if I realized it the first time almost three months ago. No, I couldn't have, because I'd never seen her other performances. Last edited by Bn43; 03-30-2020 at 02:31 AM. |

Yeah, the fall before the Confessions era and during the Living for Love performance at the Brit Awards were two significant falls for Madonna.
I remember when I saw her at the Reinvention Tour here in Toronto in 2004, Madonna fell on the "ceiling catwalk" or whatever you call it. She laughed it off but it goes to show she has probably taken some tumbles that we don't even know about. And she has toured quite a lot in the last 20 years (Drowned World, Reinvention, Confessions, Sticky & Sweet, MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X). |

Shameless bump. One, how with all the Paramount rereleases have we not got one highly demanded title? No Ordinary People, no Paper Moon, no nothing? We sure got a big surprise with Bugsy Malone, but that’s about it. (If you can truly call that “it”, BM is huge.) Two, with all the second- and third-rate Miramax titles getting dropped, where is Tarantino? While I have no clue who owns Reservoir Dogs, the next four are now under Paramount’s control. Each of those would sell at least a million copies (which is pretty hard in today’s world), so why they focus on niche titles that will maybe sell 10,000 copies is a mystery. Third, if titty flicks are the big thing on Blu and 4K, why don’t we have the big ones? (Besides Madonna’s of course.) Heavy Metal is only on a so-so Blu, Fritz is coming in “summer 21”, and the rest are just MIA. I love Madonna and will eventually get this, but it’s far down my list. Even with my VHS tape damaged beyond repair, this is still far down my list. If this was *insert MIA and most-demanded title here* instead, though, I’d definitely be more excited.
P.S. Paramount, competing against Criterion won’t end well, it will just make their second-hand Blus more expensive. Just a thought. Just a thought... |

When I look at the situation, it amazes me that Mylene Farmer (a French pop singer almost the same age as M) recorded her concert in June of 2019 and released it on both Ultra HD with Dolby Atmos and Blu-ray in December of that same year.
While Madonna's tour took two and a half years to come to a service non-Americans don't have access to, after extensive edits and possibly even redoing (at least parts of) one of the songs without an audience, with no information about a home video release. I know she has been editing it extensively because she kept posting pictures and stuff on her social media for months. The more you edit a live show and "enhance" it with special effects in a program, the more you take away from the documentary aspect of it. Thank god her old concerts shot on video weren't treated like that. |

There is no money in streaming, you can't release it in 23 colors and shapes and forms. That is why I'm not worried that her amazon-exclusive docu will be issued in a plethora of formats before her Nevermore concert. Quote me ![]() |

To be honest no version has pleased me. What you quoted is a rip of the final date of the show, from the Pioneer LaserDisc version that won her her first grammy.
Personally I would love for her London dates to be available because she sounds super-raw but very very addictive. Recently seen some more dates pop up on utube but it's been so busy that I haven't reconciled anything yet. Officially you have one Nice and one Japan versions released. I love the show in Nice. Some fans say she was most in form in Japan, at the beginning of the tour, but her Japanese audience was boring. Too reserved and polite. She needs the audience to be into her or it just feels uncomfortable. The only other BAT show I've got is the one in Barcelona, which I've also heard is the best, but the quality of that rip is so poor. I know she was probably exhausted in that last leg of the tour (Europe) and had that problem with her voice before, but Nice being the last show adds to it, in my opinion. Especially for the end of Keep It Together. She also doesn't do that fake goodnight followed by an encore thing that everybody including she does, instead just thanking her audience after telling her that the next song is the last of the tour. I've now got a better encode of the Nice NTSC show. Until I can find a good encode of the Barcelona or Nice PAL* show or until (fat chance) she releases this on DVD or Blu-ray, this will be my go to. *Madonna fans have told me the PAL LaserDisc is better than the American one, because it was recorded in PAL framerate/res. The PAL LaserDisc also isn't as yellow as the NTSC, looking at screenshots. Last edited by Warm Gun; 07-12-2021 at 05:12 PM. |
