Blu-rays

- The Marine ($1.25)
- The Marine 2 (75 cents)
- Conspiracy Theory (75 cents)

DVDs

All $3 unless otherwise indicated.

- Mame ($5)
- The List of Adrian Messenger
- The Phantom of the Opera [1962]
- Sky on Fire

I went to this BL a few weeks ago looking for the FF set, etc. What I didn't know was that there are now two extra sections with movies. The set was probably there then.

Still, I'm happy with what I did find.

With Marine 3-4 already in my collection from Dollar Tree, I figured I may as well finally get 1-2 at DT-ish prices.

I have a feeling I already bought Conspiracy Theory from BL before, but for 75 cents, I didn't want to risk it. Worth the gamble for a spare case if it comes to that. Update: I never mentioned it in the thread, so I likely did not own the movie before now!

Sky on Fire got bad reviews and has a Blu-ray, but it's Ringo Lam and I had a coupon, so I took a chance on the DVD.

I saw a DVD 4-pack of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek, Role Models, and Wanderlust for $2.50, but the case was bashed in and I had to be honest with myself that I'd probably never watch any of them (I've already seen and hated Sarah Marshall, and Jason Segel's penis really doesn't need to be seen in above 480p IMO).
Where were the two other sections of movies located at your store? Someone else mentioned that recent restock with F&F being near the register I think. I probably missed that new display at a couple stores too. At one store I looked through all of the old stock forever and came up empty handed, ready to walk out, and as I walk out I see the newer arrivals mentioned in a black cardboard display box in a little display hidden near the register. You couldn't see them when you walk in the store, but you could see them while you were walking out to the register.

If you don't mind a somewhat shorter drive, the Warwick, RI store should still have most or all of the Marilyn titles, as of last time I checked. Also, the Franklin, MA store had a few of them when I was last there. I didn't find any in Milford, MA or Ashland, MA when I last checked. I don't recall any in Seekonk or Swansea. And I haven't been to the Attleboro store in ages - just a bit too far off the routes I usually travel. Absolutely no luck on seeing the F&F set, although I already own the one with the wheel packaging.

This is a weird store with a weird layout and shelving system that I haven't come across anywhere else, so none of this may apply to you, but:

1. The regular movies are located on a set of shelves on the lefthand side of the store, with a very cumbersome stacking system. This is the only BL I've ever seen like this.

Old pic I took showing what it looks like:

2. The cardboard shelf display (looks kinda like a BF display) with newer movies was up ahead, more toward the center of the store.

3. A clearance shelf with older movies was in the back of the store, left side.

A lady who works there had to inform me of #2 and #3 yesterday. I went there a month ago and probably missed the F&F set because I didn't know about these sections. D'OH! Can't cry over spilled gasoline though.

Attleboro hasn't had them, I was @ TSC in Swansea, so I stopped in BL in the same lot, none of those there either

Oh my, absolutely!

I (and many around here) have been waiting on a BD release for quite a while. There's even a pseudo-entry for it...

I also got the Alphas sets and it's not bad. Watched the first disc and it didn't start off like gangbusters but it's well made and I like the characters so far.

Yeah I thought it was ok when I saw the first couple of episodes on TV. Figured I'd give it another go since the price was right

I loved Alphas when it was airing. It's disappointing that it got canceled after the Season 2 cliffhanger, but definitely still worth a watch.

Did the copy of the Marine you found have that cover or UNRATED spelled across the front?

Unrated. I did think the cover looked different, lol. I guess the Unrated version isn't in the Blu-ray.com database.

Yeah, I had the first season in my hand but looked at the back and saw that it wasn't a "full" season. Assumed it got cut short but then saw the second season set and decided that I'd give it a shot with that many episodes. Granted, it still ended early but at least there's some meat to it. I'm still pissed about buying the Christian Slater series My Own Worst Enemy.

I bought that too - and still haven't watched it.

What's wrong with it? Does it end on a cliffhanger?

I don't remember the details but if I recall, it seemed to just end. Like it was a 12 episode story that ended after 8 episodes. No resolutions, no loose ends tied, nothing. Very aggravating.
