You say that as if a movie about a male stripper who dreams of giving it all up to design furniture from car parts couldn't potentially be improved further by adding robots and laser guns. I disagree. I would pay to see that movie.

Seriously?? I am so sick of Amazon letting sellers regularly sell Canadian releases on the US site without stating they're the Canadian release on their listings. I'm really done buying movies/TV shows from Amazon unless they're sold directly from and by Amazon.
Great, now I'm gonna have to reorder it on eBay. Fantastic. ![]() |

Would surprise me if it stays OOP, I think most movies are getting re-released with MA codes, specifically one that outright says UV printed on the product lol Plus, having two releases was stupid for any company to do at any time.

B) Warner released almost every new title that way for about a year in 2011/2012. On the same day, there would be one movie-only BD (presumably meant mostly for rental outlets like Netflix), and another BD with alternate cover art, a bonus DVD, and also two or three featurettes. I would always buy the edition with the featutrettes, as it was only ever a couple of $ more. I did the same thing with Contagion (incidentally, both editions of that are also OOP). Warners ditched this bizarre system after a year or so, it clearly wasn't worth it. Best Buy doesn't stock the BD/DVD combo, and they haven't for over a year. It's true they do still have the movie-only BD, but I suspect that's just the last unsold stock that nobody is likely to ever buy at this point. More importantly, both discs had their listings completely removed from wbshop.com at least a year ago, the clearest sign they're OOP. Last edited by James Luckard; 04-24-2019 at 06:42 AM. |

More importantly, if it's not OOP, why has Warner Bros removed it entirely from their own site? Last edited by James Luckard; 04-24-2019 at 06:49 AM. |

Hasn't this been OOP for a while? I ended up buying it digitally. With that said, the DVD did show up at Dollar Tree a year or so ago (which I bought for the extras). I kept hoping the Blu-ray would follow suit, but that never happened. |

Also, Amazon is notorious for not carrying various titles at various times. They are the least reliable barometer of whether or not a title is out of print. Quote:
The bottom line is that new copies of the 2015 release are still being sold by major retailers. This is not in dispute. It also means it's not out of print. |

It's possible Magic Mike and Contagion could be going OOP because of Warner's distribution rights expiring after a certain amount of time and reverting to Soderbergh (even though Warner ATM still holds streaming rights, and probably will for a bit longer). This happened before with titles such as Dead Man reverting back to director Jim Jarmusch from Miramax, and since Criterion has a knack for Soderbergh, i'm sure these will see a reissue someday..

That said, the complete removal of all editions of CONTAGION and MAGIC MIKE from wbshop over a year ago feels like pretty significant evidence to me. I agree, there's nothing 100% definitive though, I'll email Warner Home Video tomorrow and ask. In the meantime, I hope it's clear I'm not trying to stir trouble or drive up prices, I'm just trying to help people get a disc before it might jump in price. Luckily that hasn't happened yet because even if it is OOP, as I suspect, this is a relatively obscure catalog title that's not in demand at the moment.
