For the longest time, there was this one Mainland Chinese film that my junior high school teacher took us to watch at the local arts museum back in 1997 or so for a Chinese film festival program.
It was a grey-brown visually looking film set in the desert, with some wushu fighting action and characters eating horse meat. It was also a very slow film. And the horse meat. How can anyone forget about that? Oh, we saw it on 35mm with English subtitles also. But I never knew what the film was called but I do remember being just a so so film. Maybe because we were only about 12 years at the time. Anyway, many years later in 2019, I see a thread on the forum and did a quick check on some random online server that has a ton of videos and low and behold, THAT movie I saw in my teenage years was "The Swordsmen in Double Flag Town". Funny isn't it? Perhaps I should re-watch it, eh? |
