What do you do with your DVDs? - Blu-ray Forum

Naturally, I'm still keeping all the DVDs that never had Blu-Ray releases in Region-A. Most other DVDs have either been combined with their Blu-Ray/UHD editions, or shoved into binders.

Many are still worth keeping either for their extras (anything from A Knight's Tale with its few featurettes that never ported to BD, to the 4-disc Pearl Harbor set with hours of stuff you probably still can't find elsewhere), alternate cuts (extended Narnia, R-rated Pearl Harbor), different color grades (The Matrix).

I also used to love hauling DVDs around when I travel, but that was back when portable DVD players were common and my laptop couldn't play BDs. That's all changed now--I can either plug in an external BD drive (maybe even UHD) or just watch digital. So I am considering purging my DVDs. I have my doubts they'll sell well online, especially if I don't have the original packaging, so I will either:

Try my luck selling them at a garage sale (not sure when).
Try my luck at a used goods store (in our area is a store called 2nd and Charles that accepts used movies, not sure how picky they are though).
Donate them to libraries, so long as they accept donations.
Donate them to the Salvation Army.
