Default Fandango

I'm using Fandango for the first time and I have to ask. How many here use Fandango and if so have you had any problems? Like can't get your tickets?

Never had a problem. It's a nice way to avoid lines.

My next question is when you check out and it asks for the billing info (Zip Code) do you put your zip code or the zip code for the theater you're going to?

You might be able to avoid the service charge altogether...my local theatre (Regal Cinemas) uses it and they have a machine for Fandango pick-ups. Well, the machine is also a automated ticket machine. There is never a line and it works perfectly.
I avoid the service charge by going directly to the machine and buying my tickets. If I feel the show might sell out, then I will go over early, buy my tickets and then run errands and go back when the show is getting ready to get seated.

Also, if you go to an AMC theatre and have a MovieWatcher card (their free member program), the service charge there is waived when you buy your tickets online (movietickets).

I use Fandango all the time, Tommy. Love it -- never had an issue at all with it.

If you ever go to AMC, you can use MovieTickets.com and get your tickets there in the same way you do on Fandango.

Not sure if Fandango is like this too (with their cinema chains), but with movietickets, if you have a rewards cards with AMC (I do) they waive the service charge when you order online.

edit: Crap! Ninja'd. Musta been posting at the same time.

Used it a few times and never had any problems. Not a huge fan of the service charge, but it's worth it to order it around mid-day opening night if I'm pretty confident the movie I'm going to might sell out.

ive never used it because of the service charge, but if you need to use it for a big opening, then its probably a good option, i just have a few friends that work at one of the restaurants right next to the movie theatre, so if i am worried tickets might get sold out, i have one of them go pick tickets up on their shift during the day before the rush hits

The 2 IMAX theaters in Jacksonville are both AMC so I decided to apply for there card. Most likely Transformers is going to be playing in those.

I'm guessing if you have a Regal Crown Card it might waive off the service charge to?

I live 2 1/2 hours away from any IMAX theater. Didn't want to drive all the way there then find out it was sold out. Or just drive there to get the tickets and drive back. It was only a $1 service charge. Basically $1 for holding my tickets and making sure I get in.

If I'm going to my local theaters I don't worry about Fandango. It's a minute drive (right behind my house) to both Carmike and Regal. They're right beside each other.
