BTW, with the f/w ver 2.4 upgrade the player will decode dts HD MA and it has analog outs. If the Onkyo has analog inputs it will play it.

Great, I did upgrade to f/w 2.4 & my onkyo 520 has analog inputs, so does this mean it would be better to go this route rather than a Digital Optical cable? or maybe both?

If that's true than you can connect this player to the Onkyo's 5.1 analog inputs and get all your hd audio. This should give you a better surround sound experience than the optical cable.

The receiver also has HDMI, so you can use that for switching to the HDTV too.
