Aladdin does come out next month, but I can't see it being any threat to Endgame. I think Disney nuked the fridge again with Aladdin's release date. This will probably be another Solo. Same with Godzilla.

Infinity War was still making pretty good money during the Memorial Day weekend and it opened to $100 million less (give or take) than Endgame. Endgame will certainly come down, but I doubt it will go down that badly or quickly. Estimates for this movie's final domestic take is $800 million. You cannot make that kind of money without good back to back weekend box office and good weekly box office.
Detective Pikachu should unseat it in a couple of weeks, then there's Godzilla, Aladdin, Spidey, Lion King, Hobbs/Shaw, plus wild cards like Dark Phoenix and MiB in addition to the stuff that will bring in the grown-ups like John Wick and Quentin Tarantino's Avengers.

Not taking anything away from Endgame's ridiculously successful opening weekend, but there will be plenty coming along to take the air out of its sails. Early September sounds about right for the disc release, maybe a week or two early for digital.

I agree with you about the new Spider-man movie, but that's over two months away. There isn't anything coming soon that I think will steal Endgame's thunder. That includes Dectective Pickachu, Aladdin, and Godzilla. This movie will not make $800 million domestically without crushing the competition. We'll see.

probably a misprint, but that could be an awesome movie (which Disney would never allow)

Man, I can't see Pikachu being the film that dethrones Endgame, but who knows. I think a lot of that will depend on the critical reception, as well as the overall popularity of Pokemon with the general public outside of its fanbase.

By the time Godzilla comes out, Endgame will definitely be dethroned, though. Endgame will have been out for over a month by then, and Godzilla definitely has enough of a brand and recognition to make that the first 'event' film of the summer.

Endgame is going to run through these next few weeks, though.

I'm still not sure about Godzilla being some runaway monster hit (heh). I think several of those movies are gonna do well but are they going to get anything like the kind of heat that Endgame has? Hmmm. Even the adult-oriented stuff iso mentioned isn't exactly coming from a place of amazing box office returns on prior efforts.

Possible, I was just guessing it might come out in August since Both Endgame and Infinity War were both released theatrically at the end of April. Disney is Incredibly consistent on Blu-ray release dates.

Oh, it's not that I think Godzilla will demolish the box office or anything--just that by the weekend it opens, it'll open number one.

I'm thinking that, unless I order it online, I'm going to have to get to the Best Buy the split second that it opens in order to buy the 4K + Blu-ray of this movie on release day.

This set is going to fly off of the shelves.

Sony nor any one else would not have brought the MCU to the caliber that Disney has taken it. Iger, Fiege, and all the talents involved made that happen. Otherwise, we will be still stewing about all the Marvel movies that came before IM1 and how most were forgettable
.

Once upon a time, I would have been super excited for a Star Wars movie. Now, I couldn't care less.

If you'd told me in 2008 when Iron Man came out that 10 years later I would be more excited for Marvel movies than Star Wars movies I would have laughed in your face. Well, here we are.

To be honest, the action is pretty central. Very little happens at the top of the frame and the bottom of the frame. Probably on purpose.

I felt differently plus some laughs were at the bottom especially.
The final battle used the height really well

I didn't really notice much in the extra IMAX frame, but that finale is such a visual onslaught that it's hard to take it all in with just one viewing. Gonna go back and see it again anyway, probably will do 3D this time.

Which has the more impressive action scenes in terms of choreography and camera work, this or Aquaman?
