Anyone kidding themselves that this will be a new encode, or in any way different from the current UK disc that can be picked up for around £10..... is a total fool

the german one is from a different company, that has already released T2 in HD-DVD (steelbook) and had different better encode. So, yes the german one will be different than the UK one..

I'm not sure if you're getting mixed up with the USA release... but..

BOTH German & UK Blu-Ray releases are from the exact same source, the Studio Canal VC1 encode (that was originally released on HD-DVD)

Since the UK encode was good enough I seriously doubt that they would spend money on doing a recode. This will be the same old copy we currently have. I would be very supprised that they gone back and redone this.
