SVS sub has taken out 2 picture windows - anyone else have this problem?

So this happened twice and only the inside pane developed a crack just like last time.

I am wondering if tempered glass will solve this problem. The double hung smaller windows are fine, just the large pane picture window.

Anyone else run into this problem?

Damn sub volume dial was not even at halfway mark on my decade old cylinder SVS 20-39PC sub.

What were you watching or listening to when this happened?

I dont recall when it happened but the last movies watched were Kingsman Golden Circle, Star Trek Into Darkness. And was also demoing with Pod Race from SW1 for a friend.
Almost forgot this one Hunter Killer sub movie had some low bass.

Kingsman 2 kicked some ass in the sound dept for sure.

Might need to move it to opposite wall facing window.

Doesn't sound like a problem to me. Sounds like some kick-ass bass!

Depending on where you live and the year your glass was installed, large picture windows and sliding glass doors MAY already BE tempered glass.

Consult with a LOCAL glass vendor or door/window supplier to see what kind of glass you would have based on year, and if tempered (which might be REQUIRED now) will make a difference.

Ohmygosh, your sub dial was HALFWAY?(!) !!
I have the Klipsch R-112SW, and it never goes above "1" out of "10". Doesn't even need to go up to 11.

Maybe you should calibrate your system and stop blasting the bass to ridiculous levels that the director need intended. Or else, get shutters inside the room in front of the windows and close them when playing that system.

To be honest, the OP's original posting is....how can I say this without being rude...I don't know, I have 4 SVS PB12-ULTRA/2's along with 2 Bill Fitzmaurice Tuba HT's, and yes, my windows flex.... ( Yes, I've checked how it sounds outside the house ) but I can say it seems a bit much to be busting windows out. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I could... but there is also a sh¡t ton of pressure in my room, when called upon.

They have windows that are laminated. Also some are really high laminated so that people can't break in even with a sledge hammer. Impact glass is the keyword I believe.

I have 2 SVS PB16Ultras on order and I'm hoping to do the same as the OP and take out all of the glass in the house (lol).
