Thor: The Dark World 4K UHD (2013)

No word yet, best guess is they're being held off til their respective sequels (or the next MCU movie relevant to them) drops.

This wasn't one of the better MCU movies IMO, but I still liked it well enough, and I am happily upgrading them to 4K as they come out. Here's to hoping for more Best Buy exclusive Steelbooks.

It will be a good while before this is fully completed, but when I'm planning out a massive custom box set for all of Phase 1-3 (aka "The Infinity Saga") which will include all of the movies on regular Blu-Ray, 4K UHD Blu-Ray, and in 3D for all movies expect for the first three that weren't released that way (Iron Man 1&2, and Incredible Hulk). I have the versions of the first two Iron Man movies that included the extra bonus features discs, so those will be a part of this. Also included will be the Target exclusive bonus disc from the first Avengers, the Target exclusive bonus disc from Spider-Man Homecoming, and all of the Phase Box Set bonus discs (I imported the three existing sets already, thankfully they were very reasonably priced, and I plan to get Phase 3 Part 2 when it comes out).

All movies will be in some Steelbook form, in some cases with me adding an extra hub (I have a simple method for this) where needed to get all three formats in the same case. When all is said and done I'm going to have a few Steelbook variants for most of the movies, so I'll have to pick my favorites and mix and match discs where applicable.

And there will be a lot of custom slip box type stuff going on, the full details of which I'm still planning out.

It will be spectacular! (I hope!)

I think everybody is holding on for that epic infinity saga box set, but marvel stated that Far From Home is now part of phase three. So absolute best case scenario I think we might have the box set in time for christmas, but more than likely it won’t be until sometime next year.

I was holding off on buying all the current available MCU films on 4K because I knew they would eventually release it in a box set, but about a month ago bought all of them and subsequent releases because I found some epic deals I couldn’t pass up on.

That being said, It’s exciting and promising to know that by September we will have Thor and TDW on UHD!

I wish I started collecting years ago because I would’ve love to build a full MCU set with all the versions available!

I'm still planning to do my custom set regardless of what official set they come out with.

But I won't necessarily rule out also getting the official set depending on what it entails.

Having rewatched this, it’s actually pretty close to being a good movie. Too bad they had not tapped into Thor’s humor yet as the story has potential

My issue with it, was the cutting down of the Dark Elves in favor of more Loki. The movie wasn’t that long and they had just had The Avengers, so I wish they made it longer.

The only two added scenes of Loki are the scene at the beginning with Odin and the reveal at the end of the movie of him on the throne.

But I agree the movie was too short and I should have cut a couple of minutes of the comedy bits and added about five or six minutes of action and/or drama.

Cut out Kat Dennings would make me happy, and I want way more Dark Elves. I think Eccleston said they filmed more stuff or it was cut before scripting.

IIRC some of the stuff they cut was the reveal that Malekith murdered his own family in an attempt to kill Bor; one of the Dark Elf ships that Malekith orders to crash into the Asgardian forces in the prologue had his wife and children aboard. This was apparently why Malekith has a personal vendetta against the Asgardian royal family; because Bor surviving made Malekith sacrificing his family pointless.
