PS3 too cheap? Can this one be a decent player?

PS3 doesn't have DTS-HD MA yet, and you have to buy an aftermarket IR remote w/ dongle and teach a universal remote the commands since the PS3 only has bluetooth for its communication with controllers and the PS3 remote.

So if you only watch movies and won't use it for games, a standalone player, especially the comparably priced S300, is a good alternative.

Sonny, "past oct. 31st stuff" is the BD-J profile 1.1 which is mandatory on all players made after October 31st. A search on the forums page here will give you more in-depth info on it.
