wow, you ain't kidding...i just priced out a 16gb to see how much it would be for me to switch to att. $85 monthly bill for just myself, i do have a corporate discount, but that would only lower it to about $70+ a month. i don't think i can abandon my family plan for that extra montly payment.

I really couldn't get into it just because it really limits you to how fast you can type. I thought it was an odd choice to have a touch screen, but kind of not really a touch screen. I love Blackberry, but I hope the next one they come out with is touch only.

definitely worth it and the plan isn't too bad if your company offers corporate discounts/accomendations. i get 30% off total bill including the data plan every month.

I don't really know what you're talking about...

My personal phone is through Verizon, it's an HTC Touch and the data plan only costs me $24.99 per month.... My work phone, Blackberry 8830 World Edition, also through Verizon, costs my company $99.99 which includes unlimited phone, txt, data, and enterprise software & e-mail.

I would personally go with a standard phone or blackberry and get an IPod Touch...

The Ipod touch has all the functionality of the iPhone, less the crappy/horrid AT&T service.

Drive to BFE and see who gets service, I guarantee it is AT&T everytime.

Also as far as changing phones, SIM cards....

Enough said.

if I think I know what you mean by BFE. The only time I EVER got a decent reliable service while with AT&T was while in a city, In any kind of rual , or country area? Not so much

The normal Verizon personal plans are a rip at $44.99. However, Verizon offers a BlackBerry data plan for $29.99. That's what I pay for my Storm. Not the cheapest, but it's not terrible either.

I bought the Storm for the wife for Christmas. I fiddled with it for a couple of days, and once I understood how it worked (there's a learning curve), a week later I had one as well.

This is true on the horizontal querty keyboard. However, with the "SureType" keyboard - which took maybe a whole 15 min. for me to get used to - I can easily do 30 wpm. It isn't perfect and every so often I hit a word that it misspells, but I'm not any slower typing with it over the hard qwerty keyboard on both of my old Windows Mobile phones. I rarely use the qwerty keyboard anymore on the Storm.

This really depends on your area. I actually live in BFE, and between visiting friends/family who have T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, Nextel/Sprint, only those with Verizon & Nextel/Sprint get reliable service, and AT&T is actually the worst where I live which is why I don't have an iPhone. However, they all say they get great reception in their areas.

You should be able to add it to your family plan.

A lot of people complain about at$t service in my area, but you will hear different opionions based on person to person.

On your $29.99 data plan when you go online does it count towards your monthly minutes quota?

Data is data, voice is voice. One doesn't go against the other.
