The 4K review seems to say that there is only occasionally dirt and speckles. The new Disc review says more than a few.

Wait!

How can the new BD look better than the 4k if it's the exact same transfer only "downscaled" to 1080p? It should look exactly the same only different colors (no HDR) and maybe a little less clear, but how can it be be better? All the flaws, DNR and whatnot should still be in there, no?
So is the consensus pretty much that the 2009 Blu is the best looking version??

I personally felt that it’s a disappointment. If it weren’t for the DNR it would have been great. Both color and contrast is excellent.

I've been waiting for a Back to the Future 4K remaster for years (really hoped one would be packed in the 2015 trilogy) but after Jurassic Park and Forrest Gump I have this feeling that I'm gonna be waiting for the 8K remaster of BTTF for them to actually get it right.

When people are so adamant about 4K either “not being much better” than blu-ray or in this case, WORSE than a blu-ray, it really makes me question their setup and whether or not they need glasses (or both).

Cuz lemme tell ya, I take my glasses off and everything becomes 200p.

BTTF is Universal. They have done stellar 4K work on The Mummy, Field of Dreams, Backdraft, Big Lebowski, etc., so there is hope yet.

Forrest Gump is Paramount.

Think they’re talking about this specific movie. Glad the reviewer is making it clear this picture quality is unacceptable
