ok, this thread is a response to the one hit wonder thread. In that thread, the OP wants actors/actresses best ever performance. It is a little confusing.

So in this brand spanking new thread, I want actors/actresses who were in hit movies but never made another big hit since and pretty much disappeared from the public mind.

Rules: Can not have made two hit movies, only one (simple); Must be the main actress/actor in the film, meaning they are playing the lead

Definition of "Hit": making back production cost plus profit; a blockbuster; Oscar nomination; sequel was made (but only can list the actor/actress if the sequel bombed at the box office and/or had 0 oscar noms.)

Ex. of a one hit wonder: Cast of Blairwitch Project

Ex. of a non-one hit wonder: Natasha Henstridge (Species and The Whole Nine Yards<---saved her)

Although I don't know if reprising his role in 2010 would disqualify him from this list.

That's a joke right? Sure the movie was a hit, but it had nothing to do with any of the actors in it.

I don't think there really is a real one-hit wonder for movies, because in all these examples (like Apocalypto) the actor isn't making the movie, so it's no surprise that they're not in anything else.

Otherwise, I'd say all the Asian people in Gran Torino were one hit wonders.

Borat is a one hit wonder for me...just becuz for like a month every was doing the "very nice" and stuff llike that but now noone even talks about the movie

Err, Sacha Baron Cohen is still pretty well known, he had a big role in Talladega Nights and a small one in Sweeney Todd. I do prefer him in non-Borat roles though.

What about John "Don't Call Me Napolean" Heder? He ain't escaping that role anytime soon, has done other comedies but really hasn't positioned himself as an actor, he's just Napolean.

Not to mention he's been working on his next documentary-ish movie, using one of his other characters. Not sure it will be the hit that Borat was, but I'm sure it will make its money back.

they did appear in other movies, but those movies never amounted to anything, I remember when they interviewed on Leno one night, they said they had offers from studios....but where are they now? making movies? nope...they will forever be known as the main characters from the Blairwitch Project
