I wonder what effect, if any, this new 4K release will have on the collector's value of [what I gather to be] the world's most sought-after, and expensive "Holy Grail" of [Blu-ray] SteelBooks? I'm sure many collectors are hanging on to their DVD Steels (or their favourites, at least), but are fowks still buying in numbers?

Don't mean to cause a ruckus and upset anyone that just spent $100s on one - just genuinely curious (and I may have to sell some of my own Blu-rays/Steels, which I'm not looking forward to... particularly as I have never done it before. So nobody rush me, please)

In all seriousness the value of the original has dropped and will continue to drop with each new release of IRON MAN.

For a long time there was only one IRON MAN SteelBook and that helped to drive the price of one of the earliest SteelBooks available.

They have since re-released this movie several times including a BF version which many prefer over the original 'blu-banner' version.

There will always be completists who are looking for all of the IRON MAN SteelBooks, but the majority of collectors would be fine with any of the more modern versions.

There used to be many 'grails' out there even in more demand than IRON MAN. There is an early version of RAMBO and also I AM LEGEND used to be a grail. For awhile people were scrambling for MOULIN ROUGE and LET THE BULLETS FLY.

Never hear about those anymore.

Pre-ordered. I'm really liking these sets. They should continue the pattern for Thor.

After that with Guardians, Ant-Man & Doctor Strange should change it without the borders.

Yeah, I’m keeping my original Blue Banner steelbook and passing on this. Will just get the regular 4k release when it eventually comes out and stick in in my steelbook.

The only one of these “new” “everyone on” steels I’ve gotten so far is Captain America 1, just because I don’t have a steel for that film but do for Winter Soldier and Civil War.

I suspect that only those folks who don’t already have a steel for this movie or completionists will get this. I’m not loving this art direction they’re headed in.

I’m sure it will be made available again, but “sold out” for the time being.
