Garbage. If only this was a Warner Archive release. Maybe they'd care a bit more.

Anyone else hope they re-release Wendy Carlos’ original soundtrack along with the 4K later this year?

It’s so iconic and fits the film so well, but it’s only ever gotten an LP release and has been long out of print. Would love to own it on CD or digital.

Didn't they release the American cut in the UK a few years back? My real fear though is that the Euro cut won't be released anywhere.

Okay, I've made some refinements that I think you will all enjoy. Feel free to use this for any custom steels you more crafty-minded folks might want to put together. Royalty free!

Post again updated.

Warners press release looks like the Batman ones HDR wise. I have my doubts for now.

It got an individual release a couple of years ago, yeah, as part of the HMV-exclusive Premium Collection. I can't see it ever becoming the 'default' version over here, though. If the inevitable UK UHD wasn't the shorter cut, I'd be shocked.

Meh. I’m fine with good ol’ HDR. I can’t wait to see all the leisure suits and Jacks turtle neck in 4K.

As always, Dolby Vision would be a bonus but I'm not gonna sweat it if it's not there.

Not pan and scan, silly. Open matte.

But I really don't want this thread to devolve into yet another aspect ratio debate...

It's not a deal breaker but it makes the difference. Those who comment the usual "I'm perfectly fine with the 'ol HRD-10" are usually those individuals who have never witnessed a DV presentation.

5 minutes in Photoshop to see if the new artwork would look better on classic yellow.

The original (Australian) DVD release was open matte. It’s worth keeping imo.

I have an OLED with DV. I like DV but I don’t think it’s God’s gift to video. It has issues on certain discs. I say I’m fine with HDR because my favourite discs of the format are in HDR not DV. Unless there is concern for compression I don’t think this will benefit that much from DV. I just watched Backdraft and Field of Dreams in HDR and never once thought about DV or felt I missing anything.
