I doubt they would bother. It already has a loaded Blu-ray release, and a great looking UHD.

It was a pleasant surprise to come across the Stephen King or Jeepers Creepers (Bill and Ted double feature to name another) value priced double features at Wal-Mart last year. It would seem Scream has abandoned rolling out any more budget minded releases such as these. I assume any potential future releases fell victim to the recent price hikes.

I also have Umbrella's Australian region free release of Road Games and I can't imagine the film getting much better treatment on Blu-ray. First of all, the disc already has a new 4K scan (albeit from a print, not the OCN or an IP) and tons of bonus features (some newly produced). Unless Scream Factory gets a new extensive interview with Jamie Lee Curtis (as small as her role is in this film) or does a new scan from better film elements, I can't see myself double dipping, sadly.

I buy it for 30 pesos!

Seriously though, I'm of the same mind; I dig disaster flicks, especially from the 70s, but 30 bucks is steep for one film imo. Some hundred-year-old film where some major hours went into restoring it, I can see it then. I doubt it took that level of work here, I'll wait for a sale.

There's a Japanese Blu-Ray of it.

It would be interesting if they could get interviews with Daryl Hannah & Laura Innes about working on their first film and what it was like on set.
I think that's a very likely possibility, not least since the overseas releases featured a new 2K scan that was much superior to that used by Twilight Time.

I got it from Bullmoose for $24.99. No tax and free shipping w/Seduction for $47 is a great deal.

I wonder if Shout or another boutique label could license the new un-scrubbed 4K master for Predator from Fox and issue it on BD with all the extras of the UHE. If such a thing were to be released, there would be a good number of takers.

THE FURY is such a terrific and undervalued De Palma film. I've read the UK Arrow Blu is excellent, but I'd like to see Scream release it and add even more extras; I'd think Andrew Stevens would likely contribute an interview given his recent recollections for Shout's 10 TO MIDNIGHT and THE SEDUCTION.

It seems like Kino has a better chance putting this one out, but still patiently waiting for someone to announce this. The DVD prices have gotten out of control!

It's with Disney, and Kino have denied having it, so I'd say things don't like good as things stand.

I would love The Midnight Hour to be released (it's in my sig of wanted titles), but I think with Disney, they will ignore it. It was actually pretty intense for a Disney movie. Sadly, I think this stays buried.

Why? Just buy both releases. The UHE has been dirt cheap since day one. Combined they'd cost less than a Shout release.

And what self-respecting Predator fan doesn't already own those extras on DVD as well as the UHE already.

Kino denied it a year or two ago. I don't believe they've commented on it since.

Hopefully Scream can make a deal with Disney (And Paramount!). If anyone can do it, they can!

Agreed MJD, I have the Arrow blu which is very nice, but an updated transfer and more extras would cause me to double dip on this one.

I loved this one as a kid, and it's the only "vampire" movie with The Smith's How Soon is Now, which is one of my favorite songs ever in the movie... This is perfect for Scream Factory, but I'd take it on Vestron too, or and maybe the best, Arrow Video.

Fingers crossed, because I'm not paying those exorbitant prices for a DVD.

I sometimes wonder if THE FURY wouldn't have received a more positive response if it hadn't been De Palma's first film after CARRIE; pretty hard to beat that classic when it comes to the similar subject of a telekinetic teen, and THE FURY seems to have suffered by comparison. It's unfortunate as THE FURY has some great set-pieces, an especially appealing Amy Irving, a magnificent John Williams score and great villains in John Cassavetes and Fiona Lewis
[Show spoiler]her memorably grisly and sanguinary send-off is worthy of her villainy
.

horroru, what do you think the chances are we'll see a Blu release of THE DARK POWER, our most recent find of neglected horror offerings at our group movie night? I don't know about you brother, but I couldn't order my DVD collection of Lash La Rue flicks fast enough after that viewing...

But why? The 4K disc has been around $10-$15 dollars. If Scream got their hands on it they’d charge $25-$30 for a regular Blu Ray.
