T2 is the derailment poster child. And Batman Begins skirts mighty close to that line. I'd like to say Grease is another that's on or about that line, but the inclusion of the OG 70mm audio alone makes it indispensable.

One of the things that angers me the most in regards to the grain management on the new release is that it completely destroys Don Burgess's brilliant cinematography. It gives the film a new polished sheen. One of the things I love most about the look of Forrest Gump is how it does such an amazing job of taking you back to the eras that it's representing by having that wonderful grainy look on the sapphire series transfer which is how I've always recalled Forrest Gump looking and feeling. This is just my opinion of course though.

I've avoided this release so far in the same way that I wouldn't waste a dime on T2 or The Bourne Identity. I think there's a horror movie of some kind that I've seen mentioned as being terrifically awful. And Jurassic Park was not a forum favorite. So there's that.
I figure I'll pick this up soon and I'll give The Bourne Supremacy a shot. |

There's a difference between tragibad and good-but-could-be-better though, you know? Your threshold is your own of course, but if peeps can find this cheaply enough it's well worth a punt.

If I knew they were doing that I wouldn't have sold my 4K disc in anticipation of getting the US 25th 4K, all I wanted it for was the new 1080p disc

All right, new to the forum. I just want to update my DVD of it, and I'm wondering if I should get the new blu-ray, the old blu-ray, the new 4K or the old 4K (if there's any difference). Based on the reviews, the 4K isn't very impressive, but I just want to know which is most worth the money and whether it's worth updating the movie to 4K.
