Thanks man, I just got the Live on Broadway Blu-ray for my girlfriend. It's only second to being there in person, I have to see Milk (heard good things)

I'm a gay guy, though I don't like too many gay films that I've seen as many perpetuate the negative stereotype. Sure, the stereotype is based on a lot of reality, but in terms of pushing a cause, I believe Brokeback was pretty stellar. It showed the internal conflict/struggle of a seemingly normal guy and brought awareness to more people than just appealing to a niche audience.

This isn't technically considered a 'gay' genre film, but the homosexual undertones in Notes on a Scandal proved very entertaining. It was a riveting drama yet also pretty humorous. Judi Dench is amazing--Cate Blanchett is pretty good herself.

Loving Annabelle - 8 (the older girl was only so-so acting and the movie is short. still love it.)
D.E.B.S. - 10 (I like that it's light-hearted and fun. That's pretty rare for the genre.)
Imagine Me & You - 9.5 (not very original. makes up for it with a great cast)
Water Lilies - 9 (The third girl just detracts is uninteresting... otherwise I liked it a lot)
Lost and Delirious - 9 (the ending was done badly. otherwise it's piper perabo, what's not to like?)
Fingersmith - 8.5 (amazing chemistry. I just didn't really care about the overly-complex plot.)

I want to see "I Can't Think Straight" or "The World Unseen". Anyone know if they're good?

Brokeback Mountain is my favorite. However, I do love Boy's Don't Cry, Milk and TransAmerica. TransAmerica is fantastic because it is very very funny aside from making some very poignant points.

Speaking as a 'mo , I didn't see what the big deal was with Brokeback. Yeah it's a nice looking picture and decent story and all but pretty stereotypical archetypes as well. Birdcage was horrible. Nathan Lane makes me want to wretch. Hollywood gives us either flaming queens or Marlboro men. I'm neither. Most of us aren't.

The Crying Game, awesome movie, but I wouldn't say it's a gay movie. It only became a "gay" movie after everyone knew the twist. Milk was great and I thought it did a pretty good job of showing the man warts and all. Gods and Monsters and Far from Heaven were pretty good too.

But I'm gonna have to go with QT. Top Gun is the gayest movie and it sucks. What do I know? I don't like Cher, Streisand or Gone With the Wind. Guess I have to give my gay card back.

Dude, you are hilarious! Gay or straight it's all relative. Sterotypes are everywhere and i'm glad you are speaking out. Good job.

I'm straight guy myself, but I do think that late John Ritter did a hell of a job in Sling Blade as the openly gay Dollar Store owner,HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR,INCREDIBLE PERFORMACE! Mmm,Hmm!!!
