I don't care what Breathless looks like, but Jean Seberg would look all the better on Blu-ray. Mmmmm, Jean Seberg.

Didn't know if this was the normal price or not, but Amazon currently has the pre-order for "The 400 Blows" Blu-ray at $21.99.

Here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/400-Blows-Blu-...5262290&sr=1-4

I thought it was a pretty good deal.

Man I just tried to order "El Norte" from the criterion collection's online store (I got a gift card for christmas) and it's telling me that my email and password are not recognized. I created an account back in November when they did their big 40% off sale (changing warehouses) now I'm no longer in the system?!
Ticked me off. I even tried to reset my password, but my email was not recognized their either.
I've contacted customer support via email, but I don't expect to hear anything till monday.
Honestly, they wonder why we order from amazon...

I agree! That's why I won't call what Criterion calls a 'Double Dip'. Double dipping is a nasty money grub from studios who release poor quality Blu-rays and then re-release better ones soon after.

Criterion releases great quality DVDs and then years later release an excellent Blu-ray of that film. That's not double dipping, in fact if they didn't release these films in Blu-ray I'd be very peeved.

Yeah, "The 400 Blows" has been priced at $21.99 for a while now on Amazon, but it's always good to point this out for everyone that doesn't check Amazon regularly.

I know Criterion's site originally had a pre-order price of $23.95, but it looks like it's gone up to $31.96 to match their other blu-ray discs. I think the best part of ordering directly from Criterion's site is that you usually get your discs a week or two before the actual release date.

I couldn't find anything I even wanted, so I just paid the $3.00 to ship it....

$25 to my door for The 400 Blows is well worth it in my opinion!

So who selects the "Criterion collection"? Don't get me wrong, "Fishing with John" is an interesting little, um... I hesitate to call it a 'film' ...thing. But how in blue blazes could it get tapped to be #42. Maybe John knew somebody that selected films and CC was desperate for releases at the time, I don't know... (by the way, anybody else own this one???). I love it myself, just for it's bizarreness as a project.

they blindfold and spin an intern, then release him/her into the underground vaults of unreleased films.

Have you created a Criterion account since they changed over their website after the 40% off sale? I know I had to create a new account, and I haven't had any problems logging-in.
