And yet the irony is that it was repeatedly cut up by the studio, the censors and so on, with some of that stuff lost forever. As it is they needed Tony Hopkins to impersonate Olivier's voice in the 'snails and oysters' scene because the audio was long gone. Merde happens.

Meanwhile we can talk about about the front cover art design and Dolby Cinema.

It wasn't fair what she endured @ the helms of Stanley Kubrick's sadistic character.
The guy is a great filmmaker but dysfunctional and unbalanced as a human being.
I think.

The most celebrated people have often a diabolical dark side.

This was or is just speculation about what happened to Shelley Duvall on the set of the Shining but when looking at her career she still did okay for herself not as big as The Shining but seems mentally okay. Than again why is it a shocker when it comes to working Stanley Kubrick is tough I mean seeing his other works shows how much he appreciates true art not his fault that he has different emotions how to handle cast members.

Either way RIP SK.

His art is unquestionable. His reputation precedes him even in heaven. The people who all worked for and with him they all have stories, some incredible ones.
There are two sides on a coin, there are two sides in Stanley Kubrick.

I assumed those were just stock placeholder images with the poster art added to it.

It’s a slipcase release? I thought it was a standard UHD case.

Not to mention he was able to get Kodak to continue making a specific negative stock for him while Eyes Wide Shut was in production.

Quite interesting.

* Eyes Wide Shut & Full Metal Jacket are two flicks I'd love to see in HDR Blu.

Now we're getting into some antics. Kubrick still did not pay for his movies out of his own pocket, which extends to the film they were shot on. As with him apparently burning all 'his' trims and outtakes, SK giving away some ends he had left over and getting Kodak to continue making x stock (which itself isn't exceptionally unusual, they were very good at catering for filmmakers e.g. David O. Russell got them to make up 1000-ft lengths of Ektachrome when shooting Three Kings) was all part of the covenant that the movie studio entered into when they signed on the dotted line: if you want Kubrick then you get Kubrick, with all that entails regarding his supreme control over all aspects of the production.

Saw something that I think nailed what the Shining was......regarding all the theories about what the movie meant.

Things throughout the movie change color,disappear,etc........When those things change or disappear.....its when Jack is actually writing his book, which coincides with all the weirdness, blood soaked hallways, the twins,etc......because of course thats not reality......the rest the movie ,when things are just mundane and normal.....is Jacks real life ......so in essence you are watching 2 movies at the same time and a book being written.......

Also remember Jack was “intrigued “ by the story of the former caretaker......was having trouble trying to find something to write about........thats where he got the idea to write “The Shining”

Hope I explained this coherently....

Wait, so was there news or a substantial rumor regarding The Exorcist on 4K UHD? Or did all this talk snowball out of the previous "Now all we need is the Exorcist on 4K" comment a few pages back? Did I miss something?

It would be great if they include both cuts. Hope we get it this year.
