We can't skip backwards that far, just doesn't work, otherwise no claim/offer would be secure (thread does not work if someone isn't locked in).

Yes, the thread can stall longer and more frequently than it used to when we had a much larger user base, but radical skips will not fix the current stall, but would make the linear flow of future claims/offers more chaotic (uncertain, unsure).

Neither FF nor jbloggs have awful offers put out there, lots of variety to choose from between the two offers, if someone wants to try a claim.

I get the "not going backwards" part. I just wasn't sure how we "fix the stall." Personally I'm surprised nobody jumped at FF's $6 Paypal offer...
