The announcement effectively described Grindhouse releasing's edition of "The Beyond" except that release included additional goodies as well. Here's to hoping this film will be priced reasonably and actually be up for enough time that folks can purchase it.

The price and shopping experience will likely influence whether I continue shopping with DF in the immediate future or whether I go back to checking in once every few months and decide whether it's worth my time/energy to blind buy some titles or not.
The Beyond now there’s an absolute classic, Dead Pit on the other hand? Ehhhh not so much

I saw on Facebook that he’s going to charge 100$ a copy for this “majestic” release too.

There is no way in Hell I am paying $100 for "The Dead Pit" - I don't care if the zombie comes out of the box and wipes my behind!

I have the Code Red dvd and that will do perfectly fine, thanks.

Sounds like Demon needs to get a grip on reality. Does he treat everyone like that ? If so, he won’t be getting any more of my business.

This is a guy who has purple hair,
and preens in front of a mirror like a high school girl getting ready for the prom while broadcasting on the internet.

Reality as most understand it simply does not exist for the DD.

I was more a fan of his hair metal persona myself. I’m ok with some flexing from time to time but it sounds like he should have been hitting the books instead of the gym.

It's not going to be anywhere near 100$. That was only the price for a single customer that was baiting us on Facebook. For the valuable collectable this should end up being, it will be reasonably priced. And remember if you don't like the price of the DEAD PIT Collector's Box edition, you can always pick it up later without the custom box at regular price. So shouldn't be any complaints with this one.

Well, of course. There will be two versions. The standard edition has not yet had a limit placed on pressings. Much like a VS release, the limited will sell out and the standard will probably only be discontinued when it isn't selling any longer and isn't worth the expenditure for a run of 1000 more.

I thought it was funny, but that's mostly because I don't hold his sense of humor against him or look for some evil motive in everything he posts on Facebook. It is unlikely he would actually weed out that guy's order and cancel again and again, forcing him to buy from a scalper, again, because he wouldn't waste the time if he could but also because he knows that is an impossible task. The guy can just have a friend order it for him.

There you go. From the owner himself. So, hopefully that clears things up. Can you guys who kind of freaked out over this $100 thing spot the part that is a joke? (I'll give you a hint: David modifying a single website entry's price, to change the price for one rude dude, then refunding the overage paid by everyone else who ordered at that price, would take an awful lot of time and effort, far more than modifying the site over and over again, instead of just taking it down for a day or two at a time. Who do we know unwilling to put in that kind of time for something tedious and pointless in which he stands to gain nothing?)

Some of you guys really need to take a look at what David says on Facebook, as in read it again, a couple of times, then ask yourself if he might be making a funny, before coming here and getting upset over him making a joke. You're not a bunch of Hollywood actresses.

Hey, my copy of Forced Entry has a really bad mastering glitch on the "The Last Victim" cut around the 27 minute mark. Like, a small chunk of the film is literally unplayable.

...am I boned since there's likely no replacement copy in sight?

I would like to see less marketing that exploits FOMO. I've never seen Dead Pit, but I think I will pass. Something in me is preventing me from getting speedy on an item so that I don't regret it later because the price skyrockets, and oh yeah, there happens to be a movie in there somewhere.

Regardless of the company or how much I like the company or how great their products are, take VS for example, I think this is always a good point to make. We have to be careful not to get sucked in to buying a film we won't even like, owing to some sense of fear that it will disappear.

I always tell my friends to remember that ten crappy films from a sale, films we hate and should have known we'd hate, add up to paying $150 for the title we realized we would love, only after it sold out, and could buy for $70. Looking at the photos, actor list, people involved in crafting the story and film and, most importantly, the plot, should be first in decision-making, far above any special packaging. If you love Dead Pit, then your decision is made. If you don't know, it is worth checking out over on Amazon Prime (borrow a friend's TV for an evening, if you don't have it).
