The original poster is extremely good. The maze steelbook looks super bad however. Even the sort-of-unfitting cover for the standard edition looks better than the steelbook.

I wish they'd published a book that's written from the movie. I do have the screenplay, on some disc I got sometime back in the 2000s.
I began reading the book in 1993 and only lasted 50 pages. I started again in 2018 and this time finished it. Not a book I will revisit soon - unlike the film.

I would much rather read a book adaptation based on the 1980 film (with all deleted scenes included).

Warner Bros is punishing us by not including the original mono. We must have let them down in some way.

This movie will never be redone on physical media again so the mono ship has sailed forever. God speed.

Its unlikely that this is the last time The Shining will be released on a physical format so it could be added to a future physical release. It's also possible that we could get the mono track on a digital release at some point. If Criterion ever gets to do a release of this film it will definitely have the original audio track.

I think we've found the frontrunner to remake The Shining.

Clearly this guy gets it. Kubrick didn't have a clue.

I think, that to correct them, we must bring an outside party into this situation...

Dont be hyperbolic. I just think the scenes with the television and Dick traveling to the Overlook hurt the isolation and pace of the film. And the less said about the goofy skeleton scene the better.

Sure, I guess it makes more sense for Dick to just materialise at the hotel with no sense as to why or how.
