Nice looking package as well. I've only got the Criterion dvd of this.

Time for an upgrade

EDIT: This appears to be a technical glitch. Both editions and all pre-orders can currently be shipped to the United States.

[Show spoiler]Not impressed with this, though (note the sentence in red):

[Show spoiler]

It had better be an Amazon goof.

EDIT: Wow, it appears to be on most/all pre-orders...

I wonder if it has anything to do with Kino's release (sourced from the same remaster) coming out next week. Though it's most likely just a mistake.

I'll bet Zavvi will have this up at some point, think they ship to the US.

Yet again a Vintage Classics title I will have to sell my current copy of, then get the new restoration in some form (most likely the beefy box set), but not before a debate about the encode of the new disc...

At least the upcoming Don't Look Now release will be a far easier double-dip!

I'll be keeping my original release until I see reviews. This might be another Ice Cold in Alex, where the original has better PQ.

The Amazon issue appears to be a technical glitch on pre-order lisitings. Any orders placed are still going through.

I was expecting a deluxe remaster of Dead Of Night in light of Kino's announcement

Is it me, or did the artist draw Dennis Price's character with the body of a woman on the new cover? The shape looks highly feminine, and as I recall, Price wears a suit for most of the picture, but that outfit looks far more like a dress. I originally thought this was supposed to be a female character, but upon looking at the face, it's clearly meant to be Price:

It seems like the artist might have used this stock photo for inspiration:

but even here, Price is clearly wearing trousers. The end result ends up looking more like a frock on the new cover, but I don't remember Price wearing anything like that in the film.

Mazzini is very much the dandy when given the opportunity, which I suppose is consistent with the notion of a man with ideas well above is station.

He appears to be wearing a frock coat, very fashionable in the film's period setting. Any woman wearing a skirt that short would have caused rioting in the streets

Yes, but did he ever actually wear anything like that in the film? I don't remember.

That box looks huge. Does it come with a book or something?

"June 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of the original UK release of KIND HEARTS & CORONETS, the jewel in Ealing Studios' crown, and arguably one of the finest British films ever made. To celebrate this anniversary STUDIOCANAL are releasing this stunning Collector's Edition as part of their Vintage Classics Collection on June 24th 2019. The Collector's Edition includes the restored film on Blu-ray, DVD plus booklet (with contributions from Ealing expert Matthew Sweet), art cards including original costume illustrations and theatrical poster."

The usual stuff, I'll be quite happy with the single disc version.

The image that you posted is from the movie.

If you Google "Dennis Price Kind Hearts and Coronets", you'll also see a lot of images like this:

It seems like it's something he starts wearing once he has
[Show spoiler]become a Duke
. I can't find a full body shot, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has long tails, as drawn in the illustration. The cover certainly shows something similar around his neck, and seems to suggest that
[Show spoiler] all 8 Alec Guinnesses are already dead
.

The BBFC have just raised the certificate to PG:

I wonder if this will affect the new video release, or if it will remain U on video
