For June standards, this is a weak slate of new releases that’s more fitting for something like August.

Still, that Shaft theme remains badass. For that alone, I’m semi excited about seeing it with my dad for Father’s Day weekend.

Doubt that Pets 2 would repeat, but having seen it and enjoying the film, I’d sure prefer it to win at the box office again.

I believe Late Night and The Dead Don't Die also go wide this weekend, not that either of them will be topping the box office.

I've already seen both, they're fairly good, but won't get much love outside their target audience.

It just looks like a movie that will flop to me. This is a very crowded summer and that won't help its legs.
