I would assume it's the whole 4000 and they're in batches of 100. Perhaps Screenbound kept the lower numbers for themselves and people buying from elsewhere will end up with a number between 0101-0200, or 0201-0300, etc.?

I've got 0075-0100 - it would be a bit pointless using four digits if they're only going up to 100.

I did consider that as an option. It’d be a weird way of going about it, mind. We’ll find out once more copies come into circulation.

Sod that. You don’t just rewrite history and remove all trace of the title it was released as and fans know it by. That sort of stuff should be optional. Muppets. Screenbound are dead to me as a trusted label.

Just for that ?
It's not even as if they didn't explicitly told people beforehands.

I'm with johnpaul2 here, that seems an extreme reaction, especially given as they've gone with the director's preference. I mean, part of the advantage of HD is being able to see the movie as close to how it was originally intended as possible, so I can't see how this is such a big deal really.

I know they had announced it. I had hoped though they wouldn't be so stupid as to not include the original as released title everyone knows the film by.

Why not just re-title everything a director wasn't happy with?! It's revisionism. Director's preferred title maybe, but not the one this films fanbase knows and loves the film by. Why is including both such an alien concept? This is exactly the same sort of "but the director wanted it this way" nonsense that left the Blu-ray of The Devil Rides Out without the originally released film.

I take it neither of you have been following other recent Screenbound nonsense, then? The fact the cover is plagiarised from art by Stuart Manning and they've just made a few tweaks to get around that when complaints were made. They're turning into what Hammer and Studiocanal were in 2012 with revisionism and audio botches that blame the source material then go silent when people point out older releases haven't had the audio issue..

As someone who doesn't frequent the Twatter madhouse, the onscreen title came as a bit of an unpleasant surprise to me. Disappointed, to be honest. Other than that, it seems to be a lovely release.

For comparison, Indicator use branching to include minutiae of alternative titles and the like.

Screenbound are pricing themselves of late at the higher end of the boutique label market but aren't putting in the effort that requires. The plagiarism and errors on top and just, nah. Not a label for me any more.

I did, and I do believe it's a bigger issue than the title card going by the original director's preferred title card.

How is it different from, say, Corman's The Intruder being sourced from a copy whose title card is I Hate Your Guts! because there wasn't anything better to scan for the restoration ?

I get what you mean. It's just that it's not a new title card but the original UK working title, and that your reaction seems quite extreme. I can't even imagine if they got, say, the AR wrong.

This being written though, it does look a bit silly to release a movie with one title on its packaging and another one in the AV presentation !

What does it matter what others think of my opinion? It's my money and I'm not supporting this sort of nonsense, end of. It's not like I don't already have an excellent release to fall back on.

If you don't want people being able to comment on your opinions....you probably shouldn't share them on a discussion forum as that's rather the point of them.

I'm not a fan of Screenbound either,
still I'm glad I bought this though, as it's currently the best version for PQ & AQ
the couple secs of title card in the movie doesn't bother me too much
esp as it looks and sounds better than orig release

Arrow or Second Sight or Powerhouse, would have done a much better job with this and would have definitely included both title option's
(and hard outer slipbox and book )

also some subtitles would of been nice

I've given my opinion and when asked explained why I think that. That is the whole point, surely?

I didn't come here to have my opinion picked apart. But hey, clearly what I think is extremely important to some so much so that the thread has become what I said and not the disc we're talking about, so I'm flattered...

No #58 for me.
I was very disappointed with Screenbound’s packaging though. A special edition rattling around in a loose, cheap Jiffy bag is pretty poor. One corner had a ding. Not too bad but I wouldn’t have picked it up in HMV in that condition.

Just cancelled (and then re-ordered) at Amazon.

I needed to change the address to a locker and there wasn't an option to do it... and the delivery date was 17th June.

So, just re-ordered (losing 17p difference in price, LOL) and had fun with delivery dates... to one personal address it was 15th June and to a work address it was the 17th... and to a nearby Amazon locker it was the 17th too.

I guess it's the 17th for me... my original pre-order was 25th Feb (and that was due on the 17th June also!), lets see what shenanigans happen with this (especially as Amazon are getting it on the 10th but sending it out a 5-7 days later). I've a feeling this might be fun

Mine arrived yesterday, done a quick A-B comparison with the old disc and this new restoration takes a huge dump on the old one, the upgrade is substantial, it looks fantastic.

The title card switch isn't really an issue for me but it would have been nice to have the option.

A bit odd there's an Inseminoid trailer on there though

To all the silly complainers,
the film was originally titled SATAN'S SKIN,
and the re title is BLOOD ON SATAN'S CLAW.

If they accessed the OCN,
what do you think the title would be?

You want a re title spliced into the restoration?

Ah, but the movie wasn't released in the UK first, so the title submitted to the BBFC is a retitling of a movie that US audiences had already seen under the Blood on Satan's Claw moniker.
