I agree... always more expensive that FS.
And this time around, their sale on the blu-rays is only 10%, whereas last time FutureShop did such a sale, it was 15% off all blu's. Damn Best Buy trying to pull of a sad excuse for a "sale"! lol ![]() |

If you're nearby a store, it's worth a look though. Last time I was there I noticed they have a pretty large selection of BD's for $14.99, with another 10% off, that makes them only $13.49.

you know what thou... it seems like every single time i go in there to get something price-matched they are always rude and end up giving me some bs excuse as to why they wont do it and then they tell me, go there and get the deal. F***ng as***les. hate that place and would much rather take my business to fs and get them to match whatever deal bb is doing + an extra 10% of the diff. least i know they'll provie me with some decent customer service.

Well even Future Shop prices on Blu-rays are usually insane. I guess I got spoiled in the last 2 years with amazon.com and the nice exchange rate. The thought of paying over $30 + taxes for a new release (and in some case catalog) Blu-ray just drives me nuts. My average purchase price for the new releases in my collection is $25 and for catalogs it is $19 or less.
So now unless Columbia House carries a particular Blu-ray I have to just wait and wait for a sale or not buy them. |

doesn't BB own FS? so the greasers up in head office don't really care, as long as you drop your load on either BB or FS. |

true, however i'm sure it reflects at the end of the year when futureshop makes more like $3000 more in net revenue with my purchases all going towards their margin instead of bestbuys. now multiply that by 10 or 20 customers and see what a difference it makes. at the end of the day, it also makes me feel better not having to deal with the jerks there and think i'm helping their paychecks in someway.

I went to BB yesterday to pick up my 2 for $35 (IAL CE & Pan's) and was aghast at what BB has stickered their blu-ray at? Black Hawk Down $26.99?!? When I brought home Pan's Labybrinth (got for $17.50), I was shocked that it was priced at $34.99. Sure you can shop around and find a much better price, but for the general public most don't do this. So I can see why people mistakenly say that blu-ray movies are far too expensive over their dvd counterpart. BB is really doing a disservice to the blu-ray movement. Yeah, they'll get some people(i.e. suckers) to pay their inflated prices, but in turn they are scaring away alot more potential buyers of the format.
I for one will be sticking with Amazon and checking this forum for bargains elsewhere. |

i really don't mind paying $20 for a movie once in a while so i shop best buy now and again.
i will say that my local best buy has no problem price matching a local competitor (or their website). they also take 10% of the difference. but i do watch the trade forum on here, i just got 5 movies for $60!!! 3 were brand new in the packaging yet!!! ![]() ![]() |

I've had about equal service at both Best Buy and Future Shop. I find them both as likely to give or deny a price match, and I find some things, including BD's, cheaper at Best Buy and some cheaper at Future Shop. I will say Future Shop is cheaper a slim majority of times, but that just means I price match at BB.
I bought a cell phone at BB a few years ago, a week later it was in the FS flyer for $0, I just brought the flyer in with my receipt and they credited me back the entire purchase price no questions asked; I paid $0. So I can't complain about their price matching. As mentioned, they have 2-3 end caps of BD's all priced at $14.99, probably about 30-40 titles at least. Some of them were the same as Blockbuster's 2 for $30. Essentially the same price, but without having to buy 2 to get the deal. |
