Same. Oh well, US version will be good enough anyway.

Way Too late ! Preordered from Amazon weeks ago. Shout Factory Bluray ! I don't want any more region 2, B UK Blurays unless it's something very rare I want for my movie collection. Hammer Films are being released by Shout, and with Excellent transfers. I have always Hated those rating numbers they put all over the cover, spine, and back of the UK Blurays. Is that Necessary !!

Actually regarding the spine it isn't mandatory (a hold over from the days of laserdisc), which puzzles me why most labels still do it.

Edit for clarification: Isn't mandatory for spines below a certain width.

I wouldn't mind if they dropped them from the front covers and spines, they can put all the crap they want on the back. It seems a bit pointless considering that you have to be over 12, 15 and 18 to purchase titles with the respective ratings, so they're basically just covering themselves for some idiot buying The Last House on the Left and complaining when they weren't forewarned that it contained ickiness because they couldn't be bothered to look at the back.

Well that’s a very nice surprise!

And not all that long after the announcement of a release over the pond.

Lust For a Vampire...oh yes!!
Studio Canal are masters of film restoration, they have put out some stunning restorations on Blu-ray for Hammer studios, I am ecstatic that they got lust for a vampire coming out in August, so I have no need to look towards the United States for their release of the film on Blu ray.

It's unfortunate due to a number of interested parties, The Hammer movies have been Distributed by different entities over the years, this was down to deals Hammer had with likes of Warner Bros, Columbia(Now owned by Sony Pictures), MGM, Icon and EMI to name few.

So well done Studio Canal, you certainly made my day...

I'd rather import this release to the US since the majority of my Hammer films are from the UK anyway. But I just wanted to be sure this would be the same film as the Scream Factory release? No quirky UK censorship issues? I'd much rather support Studio Canal than Scream Factory after their anti-consumer price-fixing shenanigans.

Extras are listed on Amazon:

Quote:
Strange Love: Hammer in 1970
Script to Screen: To Love a Vampire
Judy Matheson interview
I had no idea that Judy Matheson is apparently quite active on Facebook and even regularly replies to people who post there. It seems she shot her interview in mid-May 2019:

https://www.facebook.com/56081152072...9903922477639/

She's also promoted both the US and UK Blu-rays as well. It's always awesome to see a star who is genuinely invested in her work and in connecting with fans.

May have to double dip, different extras...the Shout does not appear to have a featurette on the film itself and the Studio Canal does...plus the Judy Matheson interview

This awful film is the only Hammer film I refuse to buy on DVD or Blu Ray. It really was Hammer scraping the bottom of the barrel to try and keep its audience, forgetting nobody thought of Hammer Films for sex and nudity before classy horror!

Ah, Ralph Bates.

Any channel showing Dear John? Funny sitcom, that one

There is a DVD set:

[Show spoiler]

Only 2 series long - not quite Fawlty Towers, however.

'Towers' should have done a Christmas Special.

[Show spoiler]'Basil has to pretend to be Santa to liven up a guest list stranded at the hotel in a snowstorm...'
