Jesus, I have no clue what Dwayne Johnson sees in this character. Of all the superheroes and villains, why is he so hellbent on playing Black Adam? The Shazam! movie only exists because Dwayne Johnson wants to play Black Adam really, really badly.

Honestly, he should have played Lobo. Much better role suited to his muscular physique and also comedic touches he now is known for. Black Adam needs a more dramatic actor and they can do what they did with the Shazam costume for Levi to add some of the bulk.

If he's similar to his performances in Faster and Snitch then I can see it working. I'm really looking forward to him as Black Adam, as I was 500 years ago when it was first announced.

Orphan, Unknown, Run all Night, Shallows. House of Wax is underrated as hell. What the hell is wrong with the Commuter its a cool little thriller with Neeson.

Non-Stop is a terrific roller-coaster ride of a mystery/action film. Too bad Collet-Serra hasn't made anything as good since.

The Rock's Black Adam Movie Will Finally Shoot Late Next Year

It's a big thing for us to create this universe, this DC section of the universe, with characters we have planned to bring into it, headlined by Shazam and Black Adam... Jaume Collet-Serra, he just closed his deal, which we're very excited about, and the plan is to begin filming that end of next year."

He's been attached to that role since 2007.

I'll get interested once they start filming in it. Still iffy on if he can sell this character. He's got the look for it but dunno if he can actually be this character.

I thought Shazam! was merely okay; I found a lot of it grating. But, most viewers seemed to really like it. Considering it was only a moderate success at the box office, I think they should just put Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam in the Shazam sequel, to pump up that movie (he's known as "box office steroids" for a reason). Then, do the Black Adam solo / origin movie prequel.

Disclaimer: All I know about the character is from the Superman / Shazam animated team-up movie.

IIRC they've said Shazam 2 still won't have Black Adam, they're saving that showdown for Shazam 3. But I kinda agree with you, I'd rather see them face off sooner rather than later.
