Popped into the Merry Hill Store tonight, they've had another move around.

They have 2 decent sized displays with loads of stock, One separately for this offer and another big collection dedicated to Arrow, 88 Films, Criterion and The Premium Collection.

Picked up

Black Moon Rising
The Annihilators
The Pyjama Girl Case
The Forbidden Photos Of A Lady Above Suspicion

No doubt go in again before the offer finishes.

I preordered Cruising from Arrow when it was announced but is this going to be in their own buy one get one free sale next week? Might as well cancel and reorder if so!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but, I don't believe pre-orders will be considered.

You'd be correct, I think the June items will be considered in stock and included, as I got an email saying once the sale starts they'll change to "Back in Stock" and if you preordered anything you get a refund of half in points, but I can't see anything further being included if they're changing the June titles to In Stock to be included

Found this on cult-labs forums - confirmation that Nightbreed is indeed coming from Arrow!



Is this buried in the tenth anniversary booklets? Surprised it wasn't spotted earlier if so (unless I've missed it on here)

I saw that in my booklet, assumed it was already rumoured so didn't post anything on here. More hyped for some Verhoeven personally! Been too long for Arrow to get at least one of his films.

It was rumoured - a couple of people were adamant it was coming - but this is the first official confirmation we've had.

Great news. I knew it was rumoured, then someone somewhat seem to debunk it on here. So it's great that it seems p.much confirmed to be coming.

I would dearly love to have a BD set similar to the old Anchor Bay Verhoeven DVD set. Apparently there's an issue with a producer clinging on to the rights, so who knows.

Does anyone know if the pixelated scenes in Demonlover are intentional or a result of third-party censorship? I don’t really care about the images being censored, but I’m pretty curious as to whether this is how it has always looked.

They're there because that's what it took to get even an R rating in America. Presumably Arrow only had access to a US-derived master. The original has no pixelation at all in the hentai scenes, which also go on much longer in the director's cut.

Demonlover was on my wishlist, but I don't tolerate censored imagery in a movie for adults. It's infantilizing. Pass.

Those scenes are probably still blurred in the Director's cut because otherwise BBFC wouldn't give even an '18' rating for it in the UK. Another option was to cut them completely. Porn is still porn, even if drawn animation and that would mean the porn aimed 'R18' rating as well. Elsewhere where censorship is looser these aren't too big an issue I bet but in the UK it's not so simple.

The fully uncensored Director's cut was released in the US on dvd back in 2004, some months after the R-rated dvd.
