Framing John DeLorean (2019)

Hey,

When you hear the name Delorean, probably that pops up in your head is Back to The Future. This isn't the case with this one.

The most recent DeLorean biopic to be announced is also looking like the likeliest one to succeed. The film being produced by XYZ Films, with cooperation from the carmaker's son Zachary, has brought on director Alex Holmes, who was recently one of the directors of HBO"='s House of Saddam.

The movie doesn't have a title yet, according to THR, but Holmes will now also be developing the script along with Rob Warr, so something will probably pop up soon enough. The story will focus, apparently, not on the development on the car, but on John DeLorean being caught in an FBI drug trafficking sting. More interesting than car manufacturing, to be sure-- but not as interesting as a time machine made out of a DeLorean. Really, nothing is.

What a bizarre-looking mash-up. I would have preferred either a straight up documentary or biopic but I'm curious to see how this is.

Both theaters (obviously limited) and VOD this weekend. I see the first theatrical showing is 8pm tonight at IFC Center

Yeah, it’s owned by the studio so it plays all the IFC Films releases (as well as other indies). I think they also have a partner theater in LA which plays a lot of their movies.

I believe IFC Films are usually on VUDU, Amazon, ITunes (at least one if not all three), but may want to wait until tomorrow which is its release date. I think a lot of those places update at 3am EST/Midnight Pacific

Watched this via iTunes, really good documentary. Watching Alec Baldwin and Morena Baccarin was just sweet, they turn in very good performances in the recreations.

Was DeLorean's life wild or what?!?!?

I just didn't remember how many crazy things he did trying to fulfill his life's ambitions, and how many lives he wrecked. Maybe even more than Tucker, his life is a cautionary tale of life in the proverbial fast lane.

If you watch it, make sure to stay all the way through the end credits!!
