Yes it is. I watched it around a week ago. Hadn't watched it in probably a year or more. Bale brought the house down in that movie. The cinematography, storytelling, and acting from everyone else was also top notch.

Yeah. Speaking of which, David Bowie did a hell of a job portraying Tesla. I haven't ever read the book that the movie is based on, but I assume the book gave Tesla his justly deserved credit in a similar fashion to the movie.

You know what..David Bowie as only appeared in movies occasionally, like in cameo roles....but the man is actually quite good at being an actor! And his music.....well what can you say other than he's a muscial poet and provides us with transcendary visual images of the thinking kind.

Nolan is responsible for Rises, so I'd have to say Burton. However, considering just Begins and Knight, then it's closer. Returns is by far my favorite Batman film, but both Begins and Knight are great. It's hard to say.

It's gotta be Nolan top - he has provided, in Batman, a series for a generation and one of the greatest trilogies ever made. He's a superb film-maker who has been influenced to various degrees by other amazing directors, yet balances homage with his own unique touch.

Second is Burton; he's a technically brilliant director, and has an amazing eye for detail and framing. His Batman films were Gothic before Nolan - who definitely took some ideas from Batman Returns for Batman Begins - and quirky. I love them and do believe that they have a more re-watchability than Nolan's three (just because you notice more in the frame and dialogue with every re-watch).

Burton is easily the best, he's fallen out of favor recently but his batman movies are great

Nolan I don't really care for. he makes great crime stories that just HAPPEN to have a maked vigilante in them, but HORRIBLE batman movies (except for Begins)

I LOvE that movie...it was my favorite of nolans films until Inception. Inception in my mind was one of the best movies I have seen. I love how Nolan brings pyschology into his work. There are always these hidden messages and that movie messed with your emotions brilliantly. The timing in the movie was like a work of art. It proved once and for all that he deserves a place among the greatest directors of all time...spielberg-esque
