Yeah, this is basically how I felt watching a lot of the John Carpenter movies in 4k. Revelations in detail are just so immersive that you fall in love with movies all over again.

I saw the 4K restoration on the big screen Saturday night. It's gorgeous and the detail is stunning. More than a handful of things I noticed for the first time in the 35 years I've been watching it. Still no hospital scene.

That's unfortunate, but glad to hear the restoration is otherwise solid.

2001 Last year my #2 Film of all time and The Shining my #3 later this year.

Is it me or is this going at a slow pace, because that's basically 1 S.K. film per year at this rate

If 4K UHD was a gaming console like PS or Nintendo or even XBOX these should be launch titles imho from WB. Like Day 1's. I know the movie industry is different but still these are the very definition of movie. I'm really surprised how this industry just makes people wait. Well 3 months and we have 2 titles from the most ambitious director/producer/screenwriter that has ever lived. And 4K has been out 3+ years. These studios are all really a let down for the fans. I dunno maybe I'm just to hardcore.
