Filmstruck was simply rebranded after a short hiatus. It is still here and that fact is most definitely relevant.

Your less important predictions, mentioned above, did not come to pass in any meaningful way. Names were simply changed and the needs of those customers are being met and will continue to be met.

None of your dire predictions have come to pass.

Short form content has replaced nothing. Not in the over 130 years that it has existed. Viewing short form content has been a "habit" for generations.

Vertically framed content has replaced nothing.

Viewing content on mobile devices has had no adverse impact on viewing content on stationary devices.

TVs not only still exist, their sales are growing. Average screen sizes are increasing also.

Movie theater attendance is up, including among young people. People of all ages still enjoy long form content.

We can still sit all we want while doing whatever we please.

Vegans still own devices with display screens and they will continue to do so.

If predicting the future was your livelihood, you would starve.
Let’s see.

Ah, yes that famous "logic" of yours where you can not be proven wrong until time itself ends. If that was a valid argument, every prediction made without a specific onset date from those of experts to those of crackpots would retain some measure of credibility. Guess where you fall on that spectrum of prognosticators btw? Definitely the latter.

It does not work that way. Every year that passes without any of your predictions happening erodes your credibility further, if there is any even left to erode, that is.

Steedeel obviously doesn't see it that way since he loves to point out how many years he's been making these predictions.

Bragging about being wrong for 9 consecutive years; he sure knows how to promote himself.

That’s because you lot move the goalposts. UV was a correct prediction. Like it or not. Just because you guys were covered in the U.S, doesn’t mean it didn’t have major ramifications in other countries. U.K, Germany, Australia, France, Belgium, Spain etc.. I know you guys forget there is s world outside America but even so......
We don’t have a digital locker so we can’t buy from a variety of stores and have those purchases projected. You can, we can’t.

This P.W guy has made the exact same prediction as me, where is the mocking and gifs for him? Nothing like selective targeting guys.

There you go guys, all the evidence you need. Read the two or three paragraphs about sport near the bottom. The guy couldn’t be clearer about mobile. He thinks that’s where consumption is moving to and rapidly. That’s for all content. They are planning their future business around mobile, heck he even mentions the 140 million mobile customers several times.

It could not be clearer.

He also mentions 40 million paid TV subscribers and 60 million broadbrand subscribers. You think those 100 million subscribers mean nothing to AT&T?

The present and near future? Very important. Longer term, in sure they arent anywhere near the priority.

He has made ut abundantly clear. He states mobile is the future for content, premium or otherwise. Ci tent rgat will be broken up into bite size chunks.

Mobile video being "the future" just means that it is the newest major revenue stream, not their only revenue stream. Diversification is the key to success, AT&T (and every other content provider) will maximize their profits by catering to a wide variety of customers. Focusing on just one group (whether it is the largest group or not) is not good business.

Every time that a company says they are going to focus on something you draw the conclusion that they are going to abandon everything else. That's a ridiculous jump to make.

Well, he said content is shifting to mobile so its not the same thing. Years ago you guys said i was crazy but now at least you seem to be acknowledging that mobile is the future. That future means the death of films in the home.

How clearer does it have to be? AT&T have access to 140 MILLION mobile customers. 60 million BB and 40 million Pay tv (that doesn’t add up to 100 million by the way) who do you think they are going to target? They want everyone on a mobile package because that’s their business and they can use location data to send targeted ads that would be worth TRIPLE the standard tv based targeted ad. Which do you think thy would prefer? It’s a dream for these companies if they can do that and they also have the bonus of cheaper, shorter content production.

We have Quibi (a new short form mobile only streaming service) seeing investment by all the major film and tv companies. Spielberg, Disney etc..

We have Youtube originals, Facebook Watch, a new technology that allows and vertical AND landscape viewing according to your preference and no doubt many more ventures.

I still don't think we should be worried about Samsung leaving the disc player game. Their players were never anything to get excited about.

There is more at stake than disc v digital. With digital, we eventually lose the right to the living room tv.
