There's a petition to get the director's cut released on Blu-ray. I had no idea that the movie was changed so much.

But with WB having the rights, chances are slim unless another entity like Scream Factory gets involved and works a deal out with WB.

I signed the petition. A director's cut of Deadly Friend would be amazing! This film, as well as other lesser popular ones, should come out on Blu. Enough with the re-issuing of films that are already out!

(Batman 1989 for example)

I'm still waiting for Deadly Friend on Blu-ray. Both the theatrical and directors' cut would be amazing.

We have 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies coming out soon and we STILL don't have some movies yet on regular Blu-ray!

Definitely one of my favorite Velveeta movies. I would totally buy it if it came out on blu ray.

I remember when i first caught this it was on Joe Bob Briggs Drive-In when it was on TNT late at night either Friday or Saturday and i remember that it was a fun cheesy watch would be nice to get a Bluray from Scream Factory or someone else possible.

I don't know if that airing was in HD??...hmm. All I know is Deadly Friend is still high on my wish list. It's a shame it STILL isn't out after all this time.

It did air in HD and looked excellent

Yeah, it definitely was in HD. I wish I knew how to take proper screenshots from a TV or how to export it from my DVR. I have no intention of deleting it ever, but there's a slight chance we'll be switching providers soon, so then it'll be bye bye Deadly Friend!

You can definitely export it to your computer. I did a quick google search and it looks like you can. What provider do you currently have?

I'm leaning towards Warner Archive release for this one being probable. Initially I would have said Shout, but my gut is telling me it's going to be coming via WAC.

Does anyone have the DVD of this? What is the quality like? I had the VHS years ago and am really keen to watch the film again. If there is no Blu Ray release in sight, although one with a commentary would be fantastic, I'll settle for the DVD.
