All the guy had to say was, “I am hoping that the deal with Lolita is that Warner Bros. releases a 4K UHD disc for it. Barring that possibility, a Criterion release would be okay, too,” and my claws would’ve stayed retracted.

What aspect ratio was the restoration of THE SHINING presented in? 1.37:1 or widescreen?

To anyone who says something like "Seriously?" or "Not the ratio debate again", this is the first I have asked about the restoration's ratio. I didn't see any other comments mentioning what ratio in which the restoration was presented.

It’s a widescreen movie and the new restoration is in the correct widescreen ratio.

Because it's entirely moot. The Shinning was never, ever projected in cinemas in 1.33 and has not been issued in 1.33 on video since, what, the 1999 DVDs?

What's with all the name changes to the The Shining I keep seeing?

Was the original cut about a talking, psychic shin? Or did Jack Nicholson hit someone in the lower leg portion with an axe?

I think the remastered set that came out Summer 2001 maintained the aspect ratio of that infamous 1999 set.

Thanks, I get confused as to which set came out when...but the point still stands that even on home video the 1.33 AR hasn't been a thing for damned near two decades.

When will we get audio specs? I hope we will get original audio as an option like on 2001.

I'd really like confirmation of whether the accompanying BD is going to be restored or the same old 1997 disc.

The regular BD include in last year's 2001 4K release was the remastered version; I imagine it will be the same case with this.

The 4K UHD release for 2001 included two BD's, a BD50 for the movie and a BD25 for the extras. Also, the BD was released separately from the UHD combo. Neither appear to be the case for The Shining so far. Audio specs suggest is the old disc but I'd like confirmation once and for all.
