It really is a shambles, and they should be printing extra booklets to cover this mess. There's absolutely no point in given your custom direct to Arrow.
I'm lucky in that I have a HMV and a Fopp close to work.

It's a real slap in the face for those who don't have a store they can get to and those ordering from abroad.

For £18 (more than many other outlets charge for Arrow new releases) I would expect to be GUARENTEED a booklet. Arrow are going to lose not only custom but a lot of goodwill if they persist in this.

Frankly, this whole thing stinks, and Arrow would be a lot more honest to not mix first and second pressings, and openly announce second pressings instead of forcing their customers to gamble. It might just lead to people ignoring the booklets and waiting for things to come on sale if they are disappointed too often. So much so for encouraging people to buy stuff early.
Nope, that's not what they are saying. My question to them was are you not now guaranteeing booklets with pre-orders? (my booklet-less copy of The Sender was ordered in March). They have stated that you are guaranteed to receive a booklet if you pre-order from their site AND they then send you a 1st pressing (not guaranteed at the moment).

I got my Blood Hunger and The Ring sets from the sale! It took exactly two weeks since I got my dispatch email. I've been wanting to see the coming of sin for a long time, I doubt it will live up to my expectations but it feels good that I can check it off the list.

So if you pre order you might get a booklet if it's the first pressing. Pre ordering directly and paying a higher price than anywhere else should guarantee you one. But there you go. That's my main qualm is the pre orders not getting one.

May as well put a disclaimer in the description saying 'Keep your fingers crossed for a booklet. If you don't receive one, better luck next time. Be lucky and good luck".

Um, even if it’s some warehouse issue I fail to see how that’s the customer’s problem when they are pre-ordering or buying on day of release and not getting what is advertised

Absolute garbage response from Arrow but their CS has been shit for a while.

Very poor customer service. I've cancelled all my pre-orders.

I bought The Sender from Fopp on release day & it did not have a booklet. Luckily I thought the film was pony so sold to to CEX for £12 trade. Buying instore on release day will not guarantee a booklet.

Even going to store is no guarantee. FM came out yesterday, and I bought a copy yesterday, and there was no booklet.

Watched and enjoyed the film last night, btw, and enjoyed it a lot. It’s def worth £7.50

While I love booklets and agree Arrow absolutely need to offer a better system and more transparency, I feel some people are taking this a bit far.
Is the inclusion of booklets the only valid reason to preorder ? I've never paid more money hoping to get a booklet than I would have otherwise.
If I like what's on the disc and have money to spare, I might pay full price and/or pre-order. If not, I might wait for a sale or a better deal. But really, if something doesn't appeal to me enough to make me pay full price, a booklet won't change that.

I hate to be that stereotype of a conspiracy theorist forum poster, but I feel like Arrow aren’t being honest with their explanation. And I certainly don’t feel like they are owed the benefit of the doubt. They continue to be cheap and misleading and this has to be leading to no more booklets. At the very least...no more booklets at other venues. But pay us here at Arrow an extra tenner to guarantee one!

Luckily once they kill the booklets they’ll lower their base prices right? (Sarcasm).

Well I don't want to fan the flames in this regard, but I was going to state that booklets also seem to be diminished for US releases, and US-only titles at that. Would the move of distribution centres here impact this?

No. Just sounds like they are cheap and lack the integrity to be honest with their customers. I’m sure we’ve all seen this before with different companies in different industries. They usually will use phrases like “streamlining our business for a better customer experience.” Perhaps PDFs will be the new (cheaper) standard. Enjoy the bread crumbs peasant.

And please understand how much I still enjoy Arrow releases (and still have some titles preordered). I’m not sending rude emails or expecting perfection every time. I just don’t like the funny business.

I'm pretty sure that Arrow said a while ago that all of their US releases are manufactured here in the UK.

Ah well in that case I stand corrected.

In this thread I noticed that contributor Rachael Nisbet (who rather infamously received a contributor copy of Strip Nude For Your Killer sans booklet) suggests that Arrow are aware of the issue and she hopes it will be rectified by the time Who Saw Her Die? is released. Hopefully that will be the case, but I can understand people's scepticism at this stage.

Received "The Possessed" and "Fifth Cord" directly from Arrow without booklets.

We only can hope Arrow can spare another hour of answering questions on here in the next couple of months and explain us the situation. I would've send another e-Mail but my last two still needs to be answered. (In the meantime Indicator posted for the 20th time on this forum in the last four weeks..)

It's simple, easy math skills: Every month there's a couple hundred bucks worth of releases coming out and I prioritise what I "need" to buy. If they treat me cheap, I'll do them the same.

Well Arrow themselves obviously believe so since they want you to order the first pressing ASAP, and the only incentive is the booklet.

They are also clearly not delivering on what is advertised.

Even more so when their own product pages still states things like "FIRST PRESSING ONLY: Illustrated collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by Peter Tonguette and archive publicity materials" or "FIRST PRESSING ONLY: Illustrated collector’s booklet featuring new writing on the film by Kevin Grant and original reviews", but my copies of Andromeda and The Grand Duel both had no booklet.

I think that’s what bugs me the most. They aren’t delivering what’s being advertised to their customers.

How come they just can’t do the ‘limited 3,000 copies guaranteed pressing’ thing that powerhouse, eureka, and twilight time do?
