I had totally forgotten about this scene. You bring up a really good point.

I remember when this first aired, it was a big deal with me and my friends. I haven't even thought of V in years but I am excited for the release.

I hope this sells well enough for us to get The Final Battle and the series!

Default Martin: In addition to the water... there is another basic shortage on our planet.

It's been a while since I upgraded a flipper disc to Blu-ray. Still have a number of these with a Side A and Side B. Turning out to be a great 2019 for Blu-ray!

And for a trip down memory lane....
Took some screenshots of the DVD menus. Enjoy!

I just realized the original DVD was released 18 years after the miniseries debuted and we might just get the Blu-ray release 18 years after the debut of the DVD release.

Only saw it once, back in 2009 when Sci Fi Channel did an all-day marathon of the originals when the reboot was about to premiere.
Same here. It's one I've been meaning to pick up but never got around to doing so, so now I'll just wait for the Blu-Ray. Hopefully it sells well enough for The Final Battle to get released as well.

Just messaged my best friend about the news, too. She loves V, so that's a guaranteed sale right there...

Excellent mini-series kinda ruined by two things, Diana puppet eating a guinea pig and the birth of the little green squeeze toy (V Final Battle). Still, an awesome show!

I disagree. It was the 1980's, and it was television. Those effects were fantastic for their time and for the medium. I hope they don't "improve" anything for this release...

I hope they release it in the 1.33:1 original broadcast ratio and not the matted 1.85:1 version that Kenneth Johnson insisted upon for the DVD release.

Oh wow! Yes! One of my favorite shows from the 1980's!

I hope Kenneth Johnson can get his trilogy made some day soon.

Yes! I was obsessed with the mini-series and even the lame tv series. I had the comics, the novels and the Topps trading cards. I must've read the A.C. Crispin novelization a half dozen times.

I was excited to get the DVDs buy for some reason the audio never worked on the DVD player. I sent it back to Amazon and the audio didn't work on the set they sent me. Third time it worked. It was very frustrating. During a move 11 years ago my DVD collection went missing so I can't wait to get it on blu-ray.

The quick switch from Jane Badler to the dummy head did nothing to diminish the terrifying effect it had it on me during the original airing.

For the DVD release Kenneth Johnson had wanted a new 5.1 mix but WB said know and only did a 2.0 Surround mix expecting low sales - they were shocked to find it selling beyond expectation. Maybe a new 5.1 will be done now.

V is one of my favorite things ever. I bought the DVDs way back when they came out.

AND, seriously, I just RE bought them yesterday.

After work, I went to pick up a few things at Walmart and they had a 2 pack with both mini series.

My DVDs are the original cases. When I saw these I thought "maybe they reissued them at some point, upgraded the cases and switched to single sided discs."

Nope, same discs. Sigh.

But very excited to hear this. I wonder if this is timed for the long discussed V movie?

We were in Texarkana last month and I noticed the same set in the Walmart there. I'd never seen them packaged like that before. I wonder how long that configuration has been in the marketplace?

Great news. I’ve been wanting this for a long time. I’m hoping The Final Battle gets announced as well.
