That's a bit of a cop out. There's no rhyme or reason for it. It simply happens because the story requires it.
Maybe he’s just clutch like Robert Horry.

Brilliant movie that easily cracks my MCU top 10. Pure fun from start to finish. Spider-Verse is still the Daddy for me personally...but only just.

Pretty soon they won’t need to have Screen Actors Guilds Awards anymore. Everyone will be voting for the Oscars! This is my one concern, that the voting numbers are growing too much too fast. They got criticism so this seems like a quick fix. I think they need to slow down a bit. Becoming an Academy member used to be something you got after being nominated for an Oscar or after a long career. Not it seems anyone gets in after a few years. I don’t like this. They sprinkle a few long time actors in to make it seem like they’re all deserving. I think they’re watering down what it means to be a member and makes me trust their understanding less of who is best to vote for awards. Become an expert, then I trust you. That happens after a long career. But who cares, right? We’ll all keep watching the Oscars. Except we won’t, as ratings have not been good for years.

I saw the movie in Dolby. I find all the MCU movies are better in Dolby. I find I even like movies better than the general reviews because of the overall picture quality. The colors in this movie pop in Dolby!

Does a very good job doing something a little different for the character by changing his surroundings, and even when it retreads old ground of previous Spider-Man films (such as portraying an awkward teen romance subplot) it shakes up the formula just enough to keep it working. While not a great film - it does have a certain "bridge between chapters" vibe - it's consistently entertaining. It also has one of the more significant mid-credits scenes of the MCU series, and sets the stage well for something possibly very different in the 3rd Spider-Man solo film. 8/10

Watched it yesterday and quite liked it overall. I have minor gripes with some of the stuff we see overall but this is a movie that will probably be better received than Homecoming but i feel like Homecoming actually edged FFH for overall CGI accuracy to realism.

I feel like Jake Gylenhaal really nailed the role he played and great casting choice.

Overall would rate this 8.5/10. I do think you'll want to stay for both end credits this time as opposed to the crap they pulled on Homecoming!. I'm actually extremely glad they got rid of some of my narrative concerns about this movie largely by the end post-Endgame however some elements remain but i've made my peace with the MCU being how it will be moving forwards. I'm in a minority that would be bothered by it.

[Show spoiler]I don't really think it would have mattered. Quentin was totally in the role of a friend, no reason to suspect him at all. And "Fury" even vouched for him.

After being resurrected along with the other fallen Avengers, battling an evil intergalactic titan on Earth, and losing his mentor, Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, just wants to set his superhero alter ego, Spider-Man, aside for a couple of weeks so that he can enjoy being a normal high school kid during a class trip to Europe. Leaving the Spider-Man suit behind, he boards a plane with his classmates and focuses on capturing the attention of the girl of his dreams, MJ, played by Zendaya. When an otherworldly threat manifests itself, however, Peter is forced to rely on his web slinging abilities yet again in order to save his friends.

Just two months after Avengers: Endgame stormed into theaters as an epic summation to an 11 year-old storyline, the 2019 superhero film, Spider-Man: Far from Home, brings us down from the clouds to end the third phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with a touch of smaller scale intimacy and humor, while also hinting at future tales to come. Director Jon Watts, who previously helmed Holland and company in the 2017 film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, achieves a similar success here by reigning in the larger-than-life spectacle of the Avengers saga, and shifting the narrative emphasis to the interactional dynamics of ordinary humans who are struggling to find their own way amidst the explosions. The best moments in this Avengers-meets-Eurotrip outing are the ones that simply show Parker and his fellow high schoolers navigating the universally relatable rigors of teenage life.

In the previous Spider-Man entry, Holland established himself as the best screen incarnation of Peter Parker to date, because of his ability to convey the inherent awkwardness and insecurity of the character, even when he is stepping up to the plate to perform impossibly heroic deeds. His star shines even brighter here as his character makes the transition from a boy to a man by learning to stand on his own feet after he is given one final gift by his friend and father figure, Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe movies have always been at their best when they examine how the bitter taste of failure is a beneficial ingredient that fuels the need for heroes and ordinary people alike to become the best versions of themselves. This latest entry provides an undeniable emotional catharsis as such, especially during a cheer-worthy moment where Peter is using Stark's Iron Man technology to perfect a new uniform. This thematic drive is given additional heft by certain narrative twists that illustrate the importance not only of refusing to let our failures define us, but also of not placing those whom we admire on pedestals at our own expense. As with other Marvel stories, this one sends a tip of the hat to present-day political climates, particularly the preponderance of misinformation and media manipulation, but the more personal lessons that we can all apply to our lives in any era are the ones that most often hit the mark.

Samuel L. Jackson, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon, Angourie Rice, and Tony Revolori all return in endearing support roles that accentuate how the heavy-duty battle scenes and computer-generated visuals of these movies are no match for talented actors who, even when only featured in brief appearances, somehow convince us that we have known them for ages. Jake Gyllenhaal, as “Mysterio”, an enigmatic presence who announces his goal to team up with the Earth as a response to multiverse invaders, is the latest addition to the Marvel trend of using A-list actors to capture our imagination in a way that the special effects splendor can never top.

I cannot discuss the plot mechanics of Spider-Man: Far from Home in detail, but I will strongly encourage everyone to stay seated for the two post-credits stingers. Since The Go-Go's song, “Vacation”, is playing at the end, I did not want to leave the theater anyway.
I'll add that I prefer Spider-Man: Homecoming to this one, mostly because the story in Spider-Man: Far from Home seemed a little rushed to me.

Still... My four-star rating stands.

[Show spoiler]I believe this was explained without having the characters tell it to the audience. He was clearly unfocused. His mind was on the trip and MJ. This is probably why they cut the robbery scene.

Am I wrong to assume it was Peter's anxiety and PTSD regarding the events and ending of Endgame? He was so distraught over Tony's death, that he quite literally couldn't function properly.
[Show spoiler] Whereas at the end, he realizes that he doesn't have to live with that weight, and that he can be just as good a hero, if not better, with Tony gone.
They could have explained it better, but I think they certainly hinted at it.

He's good friends and business partner with Favreau and Vince Vaughn. It was pretty cool that they brought him back for this.

I thought the exact same thing, especially since "Spider-Man: Far from Home" does several callbacks to the plot and ideas of
[Show spoiler]"Iron Man 3"
(Peter dealing with the trauma of life post-Snap and post-Tony's death and
[Show spoiler]Mysterio being the flip side of the Mandarin coin
).

The action scenes personally are some of the best for Spider-Man since Spider-Man 2 with Doc Ock.

Extremely good point and one that I kinda glossed over in the euphoria of witnessing the awesomeness I was seeing on the screen.
