Having seen this at the theater, I wasn't expecting anything and was ready to populate my fourth category of pop-outs. But I was surprised by a small number of decent abeit mostly mild pop-outs that I will throw into my third category. I think the highlight is a toss-up between a snake attack at 53:03 and a string of lights with bats hanging off of them at 47:16. It's not a movie I would choose for it's pop-outs but it's an okay watch.
I will continually update my first post to reflect what order I rate the movies as far as pop-outs are concerned. The emboldened titles will have links to the posts that enumerate them. HTML Code:

I found the 3d in this movie pleasantly consistent if somewhat weak, just enough to make it look like 4k. But what about the pop-outs you ask? I counted 4. Sure, I could go back and pause/step through the various bits of debris and maybe find a few other moments, but I'm not going to. When people said it didn't have any pop-outs I thought I would surely find a dozen of so if I watched carefully, but it was not to be. For the purposes of this thread, it goes straight to the bottom of the list.

This recent release caused a lot of shopping turmoil in the forums but it seems everybody has it that wants it now. Did they ever ship that "arm" with any release?
Anyway, not a bad showing of pop-outs with about 3 really good ones. Unfortunately almost all of them are gun barrels or slightly more gun with the barrel so the overall effect is not so much. I'll have to throw this somewhere in the middle of my rankings. This is, however, a tremendous conversion that should be in every 3d fan's library. Good realistic depth, and the brightness has been perfectly adjusted. Daytime looked like daytime and night looked like night, with deep blacks and no loss of detail. I even had a light on in my projector room while I watched with no ill effect. Plus, it's a good movie! While this won't make my top tier of pop-outs, it is in my top-tier of 3d movies overall. I will continually update my first post to reflect what order I rate the movies as far as pop-outs are concerned. The emboldened titles will have links to the posts that enumerate them. HTML Code:

Marvel isn't known for great pop-outs but they always have some. In the case of the Avengers, most happen too quickly and just as quickly hit the borders of the screen so they can't be fully appreciated. I love this movie but I wouldn't use it to show off pop-outs. The 3d is nice anyway.

Okay, this was a surprise. I fell asleep the first couple of times I tried to watch this a year ago. The editing style and certain modernized aspects annoyed me and I was underwhelmed by Jude Law's performance, but I decided to give it another shot because I remember it had some pop-outs. In it's favor, it has some beautiful sets and the 3d has many layers, depth, and pop. It ends up that this is a great movie to show off pop-outs. I counted well over what I listed, due to an extended battle scene where I just simply couldn't keep up. Overall, I liked the movie despite some of the aforementioned problems, but I can easily see why some may hate it. You will, however, like the 3d.
Being released in 2017, this will be the newest movie to break into my top ten (that was the surprise) I will continually update my first post to reflect what order I rate the movies as far as pop-outs are concerned. The emboldened titles will have links to the posts that enumerate them. HTML Code:

I'm not really a fan of this film but it does have a few good pop-outs. Your mileage may vary. I decided to re-watch it to see if I actually thought Dark Phoenix was a worse movie. Dark Phoenix may be worse, I still haven't decided.

Despite having two people I dislike (Jackson, Larson)and one that is only good at playing Loki, I really enjoyed this movie. This one is bursting with pop-outs but doesn't quite make it into my top tier, mainly because of bad framing (IMO) or other competing effects common in non-3d films such as selective focusing. Still, 51 pop-outs certainly gets a high ranking in my second tier. If you think I'm off-base or missed something, let me know.

One of Ang Lee's better films. I have some reservations with the 3D as the quality tends to shift constantly albeit no doubt purposefully. Some objects look a little flat at times, particularly Pi himself. And maybe that shiftiness is part of what makes the pop-outs so effective. Even with only 24 I'm forced to rate this fairly high in the scheme of things. Most pop-outs have exceptional framing and clarity.
At 1:14:30 the aspect ratio changes for the duration of the flying fish scene. Several of the fish break the new shorter frame accenting the pop-outs. The 1:85.1 AR resumes after the flying fish segment. first post updated ---no-----time----------subject----------------------------strength

Great lists mate, keep them coming. I agree with Skull a Island but it gets a huge pass from me due to the depth as well.
The best pop out Effect in any film goes to ‘The Bubble’ with it’s flying beer glass. Second is the ping pong ball in House Of Wax Third is the falling rocks in ‘ICFOS’. |

Jeff Bridges invokes his goofy made-up accent once again in this mostly forgettable effort. There are some nice effects here and there and a good number of pop-outs, though they are almost all mild. Needless to say then, this doesn't rank very high on my list. Not recommended for a pop-out demo but not too bad for a one-time watch

I didn't care so much for this film the first time I saw it, but that was in 2d. A rewatch in 3D changes everything for this film. First of all it breaks into my top field of pop-outs and secondly it renders the performance of the two characters, neither of whom I like, moot. The display, if not an wholly accurate depiction of space, is a spectacular one. View this with confidence in the presence of friends!

There are quite a few nice 3D scenes in this movie even in the dark, but there aren't many pop-outs and only one of them was really strong and unfortunately really fast. This makes my second entry into the "don't bother" category of pop-outs. That said, it's not the worst 3D I've seen. If I saw correctly, I think there is a "cameo" of the book from the Brendan Frasier Mummy in the final act.

Gemini Man was released in theatres at 120fps 3D and 60fps 3D and was visually stunning in regards to the 3D. Some of effects were a little wanky like the CGI fires and such but overall an impressive 3D outing. Coming home to blu, it suffers greatly due to the reduced frame rate but still manages to impress on a couple of extended occasions. These occasions lifted it from the bottom category. Also, there was Mary E. Winstead looking good. There are also several head bulgings that I didn't bother to count.
This also, I think, is the first list using my BenQ DLP projector rather than my Epson 3100 or LG plasma TV. first post updated ---no-----time----------subject----------------------------------------------strength

Very good use of 3D in this film and plenty of good pop-outs. Also a favorite film of mine. Many unlisted pop-outs happen just about anytime fighting is going on, which is often as the movie progresses. Impossible to catalogue.
