When Netflix became popular many studios licensed some of their content exclusively to Netflix for a year or two before it showed up on other avenues. Let me repeat that... studios licensed some of their content. Netflix's popularity didn't cause all studios to put everything exclusively on Netflix, they only put a small percentage of their content on Netflix.

Quibi is no different. If Quibi proves to be popular many studios will license some of their content to them. There is no chance that Quibi or other short form content will become the only option.

Not at all. I always acknowledged that any mobile service could become super popular. Short videos could become super popular. I've never disagreed with those predictions. They aren't a certainty but they're not improbable either. But the idea that their popularity will cause everything else to disappear or become marginal is asinine.

Additionally if the vast majority of people really do just want to watch short videos on their mobile devices then I'd have to be a huge jerk to say that they shouldn't be able to. I firmly believe in catering to the desires of all types of people. The fact that I don't want to watch short videos or that I don't want to watch anything on my phone or tablet doesn't mean that no one should have that option.

We said that AT&T doesn't want anything to be exclusively available on mobile. They make money off of mobile, internet, and TV subscriptions and it is in their best interest to continue to have their customers subscribing to all 3.

I firmly believe that Quibi's content will be playable on a variety of devices. Their content is designed for mobile devices and will be exclusively available through their apps and websites but there is absolutely no reason to make those apps only work on phones and tablets.

All Android content can be played on an Android box connected to a TV. Nothing is (or likely ever will be) exclusively available on mobile devices.

You're not the least bit unique. There are hundreds of millions of people who enjoy watching long movies and TV shows on their TVs. There are also hundreds of millions of people who enjoy watching short videos on their phones and tablets. It’s exclusive to mobile. It’s shot in vertical. They have said so. It’s shot FOR mobile.
