That got very mixed reviews. I haven’t seen it but was going to skip it. Am I missing a lot of important stuff by skipping it?

I've become a huge fan of the Conjuring universe. My personal favorites being stories involving the Warrens.

The Conjuring: Awesome, Fresh & Original material.

Annabell: A very disappointing follow up to the wonderful material we had in the original film. Very poor and stale.

The Conjuring 2: Had some WONDERFUL moments, loved the stuff surrounding the Nun (creepy as hell) but the whole plot line about simply saying the demon's name to get rid of it was too silly. Why would there be so many hints and clues to the name if the demon didn't WANT it's name known? I'm sorry, but this is a terrible way to rid us of a nasty demon. I was excited to see some material on the Amityville Horror, but was disappointed in how it was presented and handled. I personally think it's worth a whole movie to show their investigation into the house, which we have never seen before in any Amityville movie. This was SUCH a missed opportunity, in my opinion.

Annabelle: Creation: OK, now THIS is the Annabelle movie we were waiting for. Almost perfect in every way. I will just IGNORE the last Annabelle movie and keep this one instead.

The Nun: I think The Conjuring 2 did amazing in setting this up, the nun is worth it's own film. This was good......even if a bit silly at times, but overall....very entertaining.

Annabelle Comes Home: While it came off as more of an adult version of Goosebumps, I confess, I enjoyed it WAY more than most people. It was fun, entertaining, a bit mild, but still delivered in my opinion. It really adds nothing to the overall series of films, but it was GREAT to have it included.

Have you bought The Conjuring 3 yet? Would be interested in your views.

My personal favourite is The Conjuring. Expertly done scares and set up, really likeable cast.

You're not missing much, but it's definitely worth a watch. It's not terrible, bit it's not the best either.

The only connection is it has the same priest from the first Annabelle movie, and there is a brief flashback to that film when he speaks about it.

But it's definitely part of the Conjuring universe.
