Visually, this was always a very strong film and if ones watches it quickly becomes apparent many of the creatures and environments are real photography and as such it holds up better than most "video game adaptation" (or otherwise) movies.

Get off YouTube or watch any good videos about it!

The shout version definitely blows away the 2006 Sony disc.

Imagine if Sony made a 4K UHD version it might be better than the shout version.

Oddly-Specific Blu-ray collecting problem of the day:

Bought a used French 2-Disc off eBay to get the additional special features to complement the Shout release. Got the package today and found that the seller swapped out the first disc with the UK Blu for some bizarre reason. Disc rot? Sentimental attachment? We’ll see what the seller reply brings in the morning.

The FR disc 1 has two commentaries and a PiP feature that I don’t think are on other editions... I’d be mad.

I know!! Luckily I’m getting a partial refund and keeping it. I’ll just use that refund to order the single-disc which is the first disc, lol.

There are a lot of users who like to bash everything US, and especially anything Shout does. I accept that by the standards of this board... I have only 1-3 BDs that are the best versions; and even those get shit for not having original mono tracks!
You can't win this, just enjoy what you have while you can.

Got my copy from Shout Factory today, along with the poster. I for one am in love with the artwork, and having an extra copy to hang on my wall is the cherry on top. So stoked to have one of my favorite guilty pleasure movies (and favorite video game movie). Can't wait to watch the new features.

I usually agree with this sentiment on some level, but in this case, the FR version is going to be really hard to top. That thing is loaded down and absolutely essential for fans of this movie. Comparisons are wanted because it would take a lot for it to be worth replacing. I don’t think it’s bashing on the US releases to try to figure out the differences. I’ll probably end up with both once it’s released, but I’d die before I’d let someone have the FR release, especially since mine never rotted haha

I recall the opportunity to order the Fr disc and for one reason or another, was distracted and didn't.
Now snapped back to the fact this is getting a Shout! release, which of course I am purchasing, I'll need to track down the Fr disc as well.
Games turned into films do not have a history of success but I truly love this film and support it 100%.
