The THX optimizer phone app is similar to this but works so much better than the one on this disc.
I miss the disc specific ones though as they were fun to play around with.

Has anyone compared the German DTS-HD MA 7.1 audio track to either the English DTS-HD MA 5.1 or DTS-HD MA 6.1 audio tracks, if so which is the best sounding overall?

Also, there are two different headphone tracks, one by Dolby and the other by DTS (which includes a DTS: X lossless / DTS 2.0 lossy track) available amongst the many releases this movie has had over the years. Is one better than the other?

Thanks.

Yes, the 2015 Lionsgate release is the best disc we have so far even compared to the UHD.

Yep, and it will save you money versus the JP release.

Wow, the 4K is down to $7.50! Is the included Blu-ray disc this same 2015 Lions Gate release?

No, it's the same DNR mess that's on the UHD disc.

Oh. Thanks for that info. I now only have the HD-DVD versions of T2 and T3. I need to pick up the best Blu-ray versions of each. Is there a 4K release of T3 that is worth getting?

Negative. The best BD of T3 is the DE release.

DE is the abbreviation for Germany. Here's the disc: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Termi...-Blu-ray/5262/

Thanks, I see. Can this not be bought from a US site? And will it play on an Oppo 203 and BDP-83?

Amazon.de is your best bet. If you have an Amazon account already then you can log in with that. It's region free so it will play on any BD player.

When I do find time to watch movies, my absolute favorite secular movies are Titanic, The Abyss, Aliens, Avatar, and the Terminator movies like Terminator 2 (I have seen all those movies in a commercial movie theater at least once). These movies happen to be all James Cameron movies. From what I have read online (if the online information is accurate), I do not agree with his politics, however I am a big fan of his movies and his skill as a filmmaker. James Cameron will go down in history as one of the best filmmakers, and he keeps making outstanding movies. I read online that in or around 2012 that James Cameron and his family adopted a healthy vegan lifestyle.

I was thinking about upgrading my Terminator 2 Skynet Edition Blu-ray to the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray version. I have not seen the 4K version of Terminator 2 yet, however I am hearing about people complaining about the digital noise reduction and digital video transfer of T2. If James Cameron over saw the transfer of Terminator 2 to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, then that is how the creator of the movie wants the movie to look like. I am more disappointed that the 156 minute version of the movie was not ported over to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format and instead we have the 137 minute version of the movie. I would really like to see a 156 minute SkyNet edition of Terminator 2 Judgement Day on the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray format (If possible maybe even a 11.1 DTS X or 11.1 Dolby ATMOS soundtrack, unless the director is happy with the original 5.1 PCM studio master when unzipped from the 5.1 DTS-HD Master audio version). At least hopefully the full 156 minute version is on the 1080p version of Terminator 2 that comes with the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc.

Could someone tell me why the thread for the 4K version of Terminator 2 Judgement Day was closed at Blu-ray.com?

Wow, you weren't kidding! I just finally received it from Amazon in Germany, which took a couple weeks. The image quality and audio are just fantastic.

Glad you got it and enjoyed it. Yeah, it wipes the floor with the pitiful US disc especially with the audio.
