I import discs here and there and have a multiregional player, but my problem is that I have a large family (both biological and friends) and we all tend to borrow discs from one another. So anything I purchase that isn't region A, I have to make sure it's something I wouldn't necessarily want to share around.

My other problem is that when I want to watch a Non-Region A disc I have to do so in my media room. I can't watch it in the living room or bedroom, and the players aren't cheap enough to purchase several of them.

I get where you're coming from in general, but with regards to Beverly Hills Cop 2 specifically, all of the international releases are Region Free.

My biggest sticking point on pulling the trigger on region-free imports is shipping.

International shipping isn't really that bad but my brain is wired to make me wait until I have a big order to minimize shipping costs which just keeps me dragging my feet.

The lack of tracking info also turns me off a bit. Again, international shipping is reasonably priced, fairly quick and very reliable but I remember when none of those were the case and it's hard to shake old impressions.

I wish Paramount would allow Sonnefield the time to do the commentary for these films as he requested.

I think the australian 3 pack of beverly hills cop is decent value with jbs 20% off sale. If your considering ordering any other aussie titles perhaps you could bundle this and them together

I'll wait for a duopack when it's on sale. I was gonna buy the OG at BB, but decided I'll hold out for both.

The first film brought upon a lot of stress and discomfort on Sonnenfeld. I hope there will be commentates, but I doubt the studio would be willing to release it. There was supposed to be a Yule Love It edition of Scrooged with Richard Donner’s commentary where he didn’t have a lot of nice things to say about it so it was completely scrapped.

I'd be happy if they even just used the same scan with a new encode/less compression and on a bigger disc.

I'm guessing the bad rad Donner's willing to share has to do with Bill Murray. I'd be surprised if it isn't.

Yes, it's a solid enough set. I purchased that and the Director's Cut version of Commando at the same time.

I order from the various international Amazon sites all the time. The last order I had from Amazon Spain had tracking right from Barcelona, through London and on to my home address in Canada. In fact the tracking was better and more accurate than many of the orders I make from the USA.

The tracking is not always that reliable though, I order a lot from Amazon UK and France and Germany. I find a lot of the tracking to be incredibly vague, with expected delivery dates that slide all over the place over a range of days or weeks.

That said, they're always good about sending replacements if the orders eventually fail to arrive.

Where did you hear about this? I couldn't find any articles on the subject. Not doubting you - just seeking information!
