Thanks for thinking it's a troll post, but it actually is the truth. I have Speed 2: Cruise Control in my top ten best movies of all time and I would genuinely rather watch it than 2001. I'd actually rather watch all those films I mentioned over 2001. In fact, The X-Files Fight The Future is also in my top ten of all time. I happen to have different and odd tastes. Always have. Nothing wrong with that. My tastes are so odd that I happen to really dislike Lawrence of Arabia. I sat through it once and don't plan to sit through it again. That wouldn't make my top 100. Even the worst of the MCU (and there is some godawful garbage in there) is better. I'm not into most popular movies and I'm not always into most beloved movies either.

But you have to admit that saying Speed 2 and X-Files Fight The Future are not only better than 2001, but in your top 10 of all time--- is so uncommon that it goes beyond an unpopular opinion.... |

It's hard to quantify really in general detail, but if I have to boil it down to a single reason it's a personal one. But that doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the movie ever since I saw it in theaters. I've always enjoyed the movie. What can I say? |

Not doing Speed 2 was the smartest decision of Keanu Reeves' career.......possibly life. It's so crazy (not to mention completely idiotic) that he got blacklisted from Hollywood for a decade over that decision as well. After Fox saw the film you'd think they'd bring him right back to work. Anyone who couldn't tell Speed 2 was a horrible decision just from the pitch and script itself must've been on some really good sh*t!

I'm glad. I liked Jason Patrick way more than Keanu Reeves. Let's not forget this was given two enthusiastic thumbs up by Siskel AND Ebert. I'd have to agree with them. |

Wall Street and Glengarry Glen Ross are excellent films about the stock market, but Boiler Room is the better film that deals with the subject, by far. It's more in the realm of organized crime, but even still.

Enjoy all those films but I would give an edge to Margin Call. Also The Big Short and Wolf of Wall Street, of course - just because those are so ridiculously entertaining.

- Jason Patric's character has the same haircut as Reeve's character in the original. Brilliant. - Every house/building during the movie's finale is completely empty, and are clearly very cheap sets. Even more brilliant. - The movie features a Jamaican woman uttering the immortal line, "Me not see him! Me think him dead!". The very definition of brilliance. Obviously, it's a classic. |

Boiler Room is a pretty underrated flick. I rate it right up there with Wolf of Wall Street and Wall Street (though I like those slightly more). My only complaint about Boiler Room, which seems to be a pretty general complaint, is it's abrupt ending. Other than that it's aces. Even Vin Diesel gives a solid performance!

I'm all the way on the other end of the spectrum on that one. I REALLY wanted to like it but it was just so bad IMO (and not in a so bad it's good way). When Jon Voight gives the worst performance in the cast, especially when you have Owen Wilson, you know you have a problematic film on your hands.
