Universal Studios Doom: Annihilation (2019)

Quote:
Based on the popular original video game, Doom: Annihilation is an explosive, terrifying thrill ride. On the darkest moon of Mars, scientists have found an ancient portal which allows teleportation throughout the universe. Considered to be mankind's greatest discovery, it's actually a gateway from hell, unleashing a swarm of demons looking to steal the souls of everyone who gets in their way. It's up to Lieutenant Joan Dark and an elite unit of Marines to destroy an ever-growing horde of bloodsucking and soul-stealing beasts and prevent them from taking over planet earth.
Release date: October 1, 2019

I'd just stick to the Doom games, end of story.
Those who play video games, who's excited for Doom Eternal!?

I enjoy the original film quite a bit so I’ll give this a chance. I can’t help but wonder if a CGI film, like the Resident Evil and Starship Trooper films, wouldn’t have been a better choice than a DTV live action film.

Man this looks terrible but at the same time, it's like a throwback to the heyday of direct to video shlock like the Darkman sequels and I **** with that. Also seems like it might have a handful of cool practical effects.

I had no idea there was another Doom film being made. I like the first one quite a bit. Hopefully this sequel is in the same vein as Starship Troopers 2, because that is my type of direct to video garbage!

While it was no masterpiece, I did like the first version. Dumb? Sure, but The Rock was pure gold and the movie was goofy fun. I might check this out someday.

It was made in Bulgaria and is from the guy who did the Death Race films, so that should tell you how badly good it shall be.

I hated the first film with the exception of Urban's first person sequence.

The film's only saving grace. Cool soundtrack during that sequence, too.

I've only played the game a little bit so my knowledge of Doom is limited. Saying that I enjoyed the 2005 film for what it was-big dumb fun. I loved the creatures and the FPS sequence was awesome.

That's all I want with this new one as well.

So sad that this will inevitably put the 'Seal of Doom' on us ever getting a decent film adaptation.
I did not mind some of the Rock/Urban film though.

They should have gotten the cinematographer for the last season of Game of Thrones, this movie would be so dark you wouldn't be able to see any of the action
