I share that opinion. Then again, Criterion is in it's own category. I never anticipate their announcements as much as I do Vinegar Syndrome's or Arrow's.

I'll throw out my Scream Factory Comic-Con wishlist for this year; this is a wishlist, not predictions:

Let's Scare Jessica to Death
Body Parts
My Bloody Valentine
April Fool's Day (both versions)
Big Trouble in Little China (if offering a new scan); wondering if this might have a NECA figure if they actually have this title...
Creature/Titan Find
Poltergeist
Sorority House Massacre II/Hard to Die
Tobe Hooper's Night Terrors
The Hitcher
Deep Star Six (thinking this might be a Kino title, as they haven't denied it to my knowledge)
I Know What You Did Last Summer Trilogy
Breakdown

Scream Factory has gone down a notch or two on my current list favorite labels, which means I no longer hotly anticipate announcements. I'll wake up on Sunday morning and turn on the computer, sip my coffee and read about next year's lineup like I'm reading the Sunday paper. If I palpitate more than I groan, that means it'll be an OK year

Deep Star Six looks like a Kino title, given that they have an unannounced 80s horror and something with Mel Ferrer.

Deepstar Six, though owned by StudioCanal, is held for video by Lionsgate as part of their deal with SC.

I most likely won't make it to the announcements, either, and will similarly read over the slate Sunday morning while sipping some slow-roasted coffee.

Scream used to be my favorite label, but they have shifted in the rankings. Still, I credit SF will getting me back into seriously collecting, and for rejuvenating the specialty horror Blu-ray market. I'd say my Top 5 are:

1. Arrow
2. Vestron Video Collector's Series
3. Scorpion
4. WAC
5. Scream Factory

I would love another crack at Captain Kronos! Amazon had a bluray a year or so back (forgot the label) and I missed out on it. I'd love to have the CE treatment.

A late Comic-Con prediction - No Escape. It's a Universal title, has a decent HD master (Australian/German release) and it's not with Kino, who I have to imagine would not have passed on it had it been available. I suspect it's with Shout (though it could be a Shout Select title rather than a Scream one).

For now, but it looks as though their deal for that (and indeed other StudioCanal titles) might be up soon, if not already. This is why I'm expecting the likes of Extreme Prejudice, Narrow Margin and Tender Mercies to also end up with Kino.

Put it this way - I'm struggling to think of another 80s horror with StudioCanal, and based on their current deals I can't see what else they'd have with Mel Ferrer.

Vestron as #2? I loved the idea of them and was super excited when they made their first announcement but they've fallen way off my list. Lack or releases, lack of communication, I've sadly lost hope. At least the others are doing things. WAC has definitely been bumped up to the top for me, they've been releasing a ton these days from every genre. MVD has been doing some cool things as well, I'd add them to a list of top companies. Don't know much about Scorpion but I should really look into them, a lot of people mention them.

Wishlist Scream Factory
Fright Night 2 I hope.
The Midnight Hour As long as it's been remastered at this point I don't care if it's DVD.
Ghost Chase I actually don't care who has it as long as it's finally released by someone. Which Kino said someone has it but it's not them. I am sure it just means that someone has it and not that whoever does will release it.

Wishlist Shout Select
Loose Cannons as I mentioned a few times before.

While I certainly have a wishlist of titles for comic-con announcements I'll just say this.

Wishlist 2019:

Fair prices
Widespread availability at all retailers (like the old days)

I've been out of the loop, why did retailers stop carrying the titles?

I've hardly ever seen any Scream titles available at retail stores. Army of Darkness was one exception. I bought that at Best Buy the day it came out. I also saw Halloween II and Halloween III at Target when they were released, but only the DVD versions.

The only chain store I've seen a good selection (yet very overpriced) of scream factory releases are my local FYEs. If there is an older release I don't wanna order online in chance it won't have the slip I'll buy from the fye's, or an Arrow title that I'm not sure will have the booklets.

In store selections have dwindled thanks to shrinking media sections, but last year Scream Factory rolled out MAP pricing and the impact it had was that many larger retailers just stopped carrying some or all of Scream Factory's releases. Given what we've seen since I dont know if these price mandates were the result of licensor contracts, scream factory management, or a combination of the two. Either way, I just miss the days where best buy and Walmart carried everything online with a handful of titles in store as well.

Shout Factory was my favorite label back when they were first releasing Roger Corman's stuff 10 years ago. I still dig them but the pricing and the artwork has cooled me off a bit. I don't "day one" their stuff much anymore and I pass and all but the must haves. There was a time when Scorpion was my favorite but I cooled on them because of the missteps and drama. I feel like I'm going to go broke keeping up with Arrow the past few years. I love what Mondo and VS are doing.

Vestron is over-hyped and WAC only dabbles in my favorite genres.

1. Arrow
2. Mondo Macabro
3. Vinegar Syndrome
4. Synapse
5. Scorpion
6. Kino / Shout Factory / 88 Films / Severin

Wish the following would ramp up in stuff I like:

Camera Obscura
Le chat qui fume
Grindhouse Releasing
Indicator / Powerhouse
